"- this isn't the library." The girl who says those words is standing at the front door, clutching a heavy, leather-bound book to her chest. She's a pretty girl, with flowing chestnut hair, bright green eyes, and she's dressed plainly; brown skirt, brown bodice, white blouse underneath. Plainly, but the cotton of her clothes is of high quality, and her light, throaty voice is unmistakably cultured. It also, if one knows Tortall, has a Lakes region accent.
The girl is looking both confused and wary. Wary, because behind her is the City of the Gods, and goodness knows that the boys there who being trained in magic know how to pull pranks. Only...this doesn't seem like a prank.
It...it looks a tavern. Maybe. Not that she's been to one, of course, but it still...It has a tavern-ish air.
Delia of Eldorne slowly inches her way forward, still looking very confused.
[OoC: Delia has been rebooted, and is now nearly sixteen. If any characters that tag remember her from her previous run, please don't tell her. Any questions, just drop me a PM or ping me. :)]

"Hell, if you do that I ain't goin' to let you wander around here. Sorry, miss."

She's very obviously very confused.

"That's Milliways, miss. It starts confusin' and never quite stops. I'll try and explain though might be best to sit down. Don't want anyone runnin' into you."

"Um, well, where were you before, miss? And do you have magic in your world?"
She reminds him a bit of Mary and he wants to be as proper as he can.
no subject
Your world, the boy said, as there are many.

Her outfit doesn't look like something a nun would wear, but she might be at school in the convent. He's aware that's something that happens sometimes.

"Could you run that by me again?"

He gestures to the Window but doesn't look over at it.

"Goddess bless."
no subject
He wants to help as she doesn't look like she's taking it well.

So he stands up, keeping a hand on Horus and goes up to the counter. After a few minutes, he returns carefully carrying a tea tray, "I hope this'll do."
no subject
Mm. Tea.
Still, though, clutching that book to her chest.
"So, I...came here thanks to a spell?"

It's something that he doesn't even know how to begin figuring out. He trusts Katya and the people here to know how magic works.

She seems like the kind of girl who can get whatever she wants or know how to figure things out.

Very clever bit of policy, that, thinks the girl who paid far too much attention to the actual workings of history for her teachers' peace of mind.

"Yeah, though it's nice to have time to just sit and read every once in a while. Or go ridin' without havin' to do other stuff."
