The Knight, sober and somber, has spent long enough in Milliways. His swan and chariot are once again waiting outside for him, ready to return him to Prince Siegfried.
But Lohengrin tarries by the lake.
Botherable.

No, not down there. Up. Up.
Among the branches.
There is an eagle watching the lakeshore.

Well, at least it's not a raven. But Lohengrin isn't exactly in the mood to see birds of any sort, not even the giant swan patiently awaiting him with the chariot.
So when he spots the eagle, he about-faces and walks the other way.

As it is, he crouches down, then takes off to get a bird's eye view, branch creaking in protest as he flaps off.
This is no one he knows and his curiosity is getting the better of him.

"You're not Orpheus again, are you?" he tries, though he can't imagine Orpheus doing anything that would get him turned into an eagle.

Human ears, though, are not always so good.
No, of course not. Don't know anyone by that name.

"I swear these birds are going to be the end of me," he mutters, walking away again.
He's right about that.no subject
He drops about fifty yards, yet still outside normal hearing range.
What? Me? I'm no bird.

And this bird that claims it's not a bird is certainly chattier than the other birds he's encountered at home.
The Raven aside.

Rabastan's making assumptions about Lohengrin's knowledge of shapechangers.

"Another witch?"
Well this is just great.

No. I'm a wizard. Only women are witches.

"You bother to ask why? You who know better about the evils you're capable of than I ever would?"

It still stings. Even now. Even from a stranger, who doesn't know how accurate he is.
And lets out a rather pained sound.
I'm not like that. I'm not.
The voice is whispered. Spoken almost to assure someone of the truth.

It's quite emotional, causing his flight to become choppy and altitude to be lost, now that he's not paying attention to what birds are supposed to do when flying. Alongside all the unhappy eagle noises.
I'm not that kind of person! I'm not a bad man!

"I may not know you but I know witches and what they can do. If you're of their ilk..."

I don't mean to upset you.

He flutters down, landing with a soft puff-crunch sound in the snow.
I can change back. But I do not know if you want to watch. Some people don't like watching others change shape.

He dusts off the snow. "Better?"
The eyes don't appear to have changed colour.
