Rose enters the bar today and is excited to be greeted with the vidscreens. She reads all about Cubefall and looks at her given options very carefully. The robot looks kind of cool, but she's a little hesitant to choose any of the other options as well, until she sees the puppy.

She can't say "Yes!" fast enough and it isn't long before there's an irish setter puppy in her place. She bounces and skitters around happily for a few minutes and then comes to a complete stop. Then the barking starts. The puppy starts up running around again, growling and barking until it finds something it can take its aggression out on.

This couch cushion is gonna get it.

Poirot did not see the young woman become a puppy. He only hears the yipping and sees the poor couch cushion. He watches, wonders whose dog this is, and wonders if he should try to bring the dog to heel.

This puppy doesn't care about heeling. She's going to rip this cushion apart if it's the last thing she does. She's very focussed on this task and doesn't quite notice anyone near her.

"Down, dog, down," he says in a voice that is not as authoritative as one would need for most dogs. But Poirot's training with dogs is limited.

This is definitely not most dogs. She turns toward Poirot and growls, shaking the cushion aggressively.

"I think that the thing you do, you should not do." He steps closer, not sure he really wants to handle the pup. But what is the worst that can happen? A dog bite? Painful but not terrible. Rabies? He does not imagine any dog here would have rabies. (Living in the UK spoiled him.)

She'll do whatever she damn well pleases, thank you very much! She indicates this by dropping the seat and barking in his specific direction. As loud as she can.

"Hush!" Now there is authority in his voice. That of a former cop, former chief detective. Though it seems less than likely that any dog would care.

You're not the boss of her! She ambles to him and starts chewing his shoe just to prove her case.

He gasps! "Off! Off my shoe!" He just polished it!

Nom nom nom. She tries shaking the shoe but there seems to be a foot in it she's not strong enough to move.

Poirot pulls his shoe back, and steps back. "Bad dog! Non!"

She's a very bad dog and she doesn't care who knows it. She jumps at his foot and barks some more.

"Surely you belong to someone," he asks as he decides to ignore the pup.

Wrong! And there's no ignoring allowed. The pup drags the couch cushion over to him and starts in on it again. She's dangerous!

He gets an idea, seeing as how he cannot let the pup eat the cushion and defy order.

He asks the bar for a bowl of dog kibble.

She perks up an ear, but refuses to relinquish her prey. She's angry and food can wait.

"Little dog, I will not fight with you. But you must cast aside your pillow if you want to eat." The bowl is placed on the floor a foot in front of the couch.

But she wants a fight! She growls at him as he places down the bowl and eventually her nose can't stand it and she has to go over and investigate.

Maybe just one little taste...

"Ah, so you want the food as much as the pillow!" He does not understand dogs as he does humans, but he is not clueless.

Puppies do need to eat regularly to keep up their energy and she wants to have enough energy to express just how angry she is at this.

Stupid Rose.

After a few bites she jumps at him again and begins to bark anew.

So much for that theory. The little grey cells, they are not meant to understand this dog.

She did eat a little! Right now there's just barking and lunging at until the barks become fewer in between and the lunges almost come to a stop as she slides toward the floor. There are a few quiet growls before there's silence.

Puppy crash.

Ah. This, he thinks, makes sense. The little animals, they need their sleep. And unlike the little cats, the little dogs stay asleep.

He steps back quietly, and lets sleeping pups lay.

There's a man sitting by the fire, reading from a datapad, a ginger and white kitten asleep in his lap.

At the first bark, he drops the datapad as he now has a freaked out kitten climbing up his head in an effort to escape the scary dog.

She's so scary. Everyone should be running in fear. The cat catches her attention and she scrambles over, barking up a storm.

Bodhi has never really seen a dog up close but he knows that Kyber's upset. He tries to catch hold of the freaked out kitten, ending up with a scratched and bleeding face.

"No, go away!" He tries to push the puppy away with his foot as he clings to a wriggling Kyber.

Ooh, a foot. She latches onto it with her teeth, biting down and attempting to shake it with all her might.

Bodhi shouts loudly, trying to shake the puppy off. "Um, help!"

She lets go momentarily and starts up with more barking. Cat! She knows what a cat is!

Kyber changes his mind. This is his human and no-one attacks it! He scampers down Bodhi's arm, landing in his hands and hisses at the puppy, yowling fiercely.

She isn't scared of you! She barks louder, making sure this cat knows who's in charge and takes a swat at Kyber, just for good measure.

Bodhi does his best to keep Kyber from attacking the puppy, and vis versa. "No, Kyber. No, no." He hoists the kitten and pushes the puppy away with a foot, making a break for the stairs.

Oh, you're not getting away from her. She chases Bodhi and Kyber as fast as she can until she hits the bottom step and sort of gets laid out flat. Stairs. A new challenge.

Stairs give Bodhi an advantage. At the very least he can tuck Kyber safely in their room before coming back out to stop the puppy.

The puppy has made it approximately two and a half steps. Stairs are harder than they look. She gets back to barking when she spots Bodhi again.

He comes down to confront the creature. And just realises how cute it actually is. He sits down on the step and offers the creature his hand to sniff.
