Jim wanders into the bar from out back, humming under his breath, leading Buster Bonehead, and looking very amused.

Really, it shouldn't be allowed for anyone to look that pleased with themselves.

Upset (but unharmed) dog under cut )

Jim rolls his eyes, and orders a Caesar salad for dinner. He'd prefer to go home, but that might involve cooking. Gross.

Dad came home today and made sure Coral and her siblings hadn't taken in any new pets he wasn't expecting. They hadn't, so she ended up making a poster with the younger two, while her brother went off and planned how to do some detectiving.

Cut for image, part of dog plot )

After putting up her posters, Coral goes out to play on the swings next to the Scout Hut, looking pensive.

Dad had told them not to come into the bar until the sickness went away. But Coral is still concerned about her dog-sitting duties, so she has come in this evening to check on Buster, although her brother has now told her that the dog bites and she's not to get close.

She feeds the dog and tells him he's a good doggy. Then she takes her homework bag to a quiet corner and starts doing her maths. She bites the end of her pencil and tries to remember how to do long subtraction.

Just before dawn, Sinric can be found under one of the cherry trees in the suddenly appeared grove. His eyes are closed, his expression relaxed and content in meditation as the sun rises over the mountain.

He lingers there, well after sun-up - playing a simple wooden flute or simply musing at the quiet beauty of the place.

Company would be most welcome.

Over in one corner, Fry and Coral are constructing a dog bed out of an old crate and a soft blanket. Fry has carefully sanded the crate and checked there aren't any sharp bits or nails, and Coral is arranging the blanket.

There was some dispute as to how they would get Buster to use the bed. Fry said it needed to smell like Wilford, but they were struggling to find anything that met the criteria.

Then a nice man with orange hair had come along and lent them an 'old moustache', which the orange man had wiped over the doggy bed for them before taking it away again. Fry didn't think that would work, but Coral said a moustache was perfect because it would have been under his nose so all his smell would have gone past it. They didn't like to ask where the 'old moustache' had come from.

Behind the bed, they have installed a large simple clock, with no numbers, and only one hand. Where 7 O'Clock should be, there is a picture of a doggy bowl.

Now the two children are decorating the doggy bed with pink stencilled moustaches, and the name 'Dumbles' (Coral says this is what Wilford calls the doggy, short for Dumbass), to make him feel at home.

[oom: Save scumming is one of those things everybody knows about, but nobody ever encounters.]

The first thing Wilford does when he walks through the door is bring a heavy bag of cash over to the bar. He never bothered to count what was in it after he and Jim cleaned house, but it’ll undoubtedly be enough to carry him through what’s about to come up. If he needs something in the coming months, he knows how to flirt his way into getting someone else to open their wallets. Along with the cash, he leaves two hand-written notes, telling Bar to keep everything until he asks for them again.

With one problem taken care of, Wilford gets a bottle of whiskey and a glass, and heads over to sit by the fireplace to figure out what to do about the second problem.

[oom: Something isn't quite right.]

Wilford saves everything, in both senses of the word. When he moved out from the east coast, some of the only things he bothered packing up and bringing with him were his notes. Almost fifteen years worth of notes, all stacked up neatly in his attic.

Slender Man.

Wilford isn’t sure why, but that’s what he’s drawn to now. The story that made his entire career.

You don’t need to look both ways when you got swag.

Wilford’s feeling more than a little manic when he comes in today. He should be at the studio right now, but he’s not. And not for the obvious reasons of him being here. He never bothered to leave his house. He’d spent the night digging through old boxes of hand-written notes until he found the right one.

Now, he’s still taken over the area by the fireplace with a large cardboard file box. Every note, every photo. Every single shred of evidence connected to the Slender Man story. Wilford’s combing through all of it. He knows he’s on the right path, but nothing’s there to actually confirm it. Someone was hit by a bus during this story. Wilford knows it. But there isn’t a single sentence confirming it.

Wilford is not going crazy. He knows there’s a connection between this old story and the new incident with Freddy Fazbear, and he’s going to find it if he has to sit here all week.

A twelve year old boy walks into the bar, starts talking to who he thinks is his nerdy BFF, then stops short.

"--yeah, Koushirou-kun, I think-- ...wait, did you do this?"

Taichi looks around. He was expecting his bedroom and a room full of computers. Instead he got ... oh, this is that bar he saw the night of the Greymon/Parrotmon battle five years ago!

He actually has time to spare now! (He comes from the start of Our War Game...) He hops up on a bar stool and ... wait, how does this work?

It's been too long, so this afternoon Bonnie has brought a whole bunch of junk to the scout hut today. Got to make the most of the snow while it lasts.

She posts a sign on the back door.

'ATTN MILLISCOUTS

Sledding out back today!
Remember our very first get-together?
Well, I've got a pile of junk, and a bunch of sleds from last time that could use a little upgrade.
Last one down the slope's a rotten egg!

New recruits welcome!

Opportunity to gain your Engineer-Sledge badge if you don't already have it.
- Bonnie'

[ooc: All child-friendly pups welcome of any age (see this FAQ if you are in doubt about whether your pup is child friendly). Threadhopping encouraged! Anyone who wants to formally join the Milliscouts and be eligible for badges please speak IC to Bonnie or OOC to me.]

In one corner of the bar, Coral is hunting behind sofas, and under tables, accompanied by a small albino dachshund who is being expected to be a sniffer dog.

They've been searching for a while, until eventually she sits down on the floor with a sigh.

"It's no use, Pooh." she says to the dog. "All the elf dolls have gone!"

She looks at the floor. The dog stares at her, then licks her face.

It can be a little... complicated when you've been coming to a magical bar for nearly twelve years. So for the last few years*, Guppy has been leaving vouchers with the bar rather than presents, because more often than not they don't get picked up.

So if you're friends with Guppy, you'll find yourself in receipt of a voucher for a rather nice golden syrup cake, or lemon drizzle, whichever you prefer and catered to dietary needs.

If you're friends with the children, you'll receive a decorated cardboard box containing a gingerbread person which kind of resembles yourself, depending on the level of artistic talent of the child that decorated it.

[*Around the time his Christmas list started taking longer than his mun's to construct.

Mostly for reaction, but if you want to receive your present in person tag in here.]

[elfwarning]

The bar is full of dollies.

This does not seem to have upset Coral, who has assembled about thirty of the dolls into what appears to be a school classroom. Several of them are now wearing name tags, and Coral has a small chalk board and a register.

One of them, labelled 'Elfis', has been put in a cardboard box marked 'detention'.

Huzzah, hurray! It's not raining on the day of the yard sale. Flea market. Rummage. Whatever you want to call it! Event where you can sell stuff and buy stuff and generally wander around poking at things.

So Ursula has hung up more signs, directing people to a big grassy area, where she's begun setting up blankets and tables. Come on down!

((Yard sale! Party-style rules apply: thread-hopping encouraged, open indefinitely, make your own fun. I'll set up some organizational threads below.))

Noriko is outside today, sweating in the late afternoon sunlight as she works through several aerial maneuvers including a kind of handsless cartwheel, and a horizontal kick that carries the rest of her body with it. She has two tiny earbuds stuck in her ears playing music with a pounding, driving bass that helps her stay in some kind of internal rhythm.

She's definitely interruptable, just watch out for flying heels and elbows.

The Front Door opens and closes quietly, allowing a little girl in a proper black dress, with a high collar of white lace, to enter. The little girl pauses once she turns around, confusion on her face. This is not the closet.

For another heartbeat or two she stands there--processing what to do--before she darts beneath the table at a booth. Hide and seek still needs to happen for the next thirty-five minutes, and she can hide here as well as she can in the usual closet.

Out at the beach, Fry and Coral are doing the next round of the Sandhu Olympics - the Long Jump - on a nice flat area of sand.

Every now and again, one of them takes a big run, then a jump, then Fry gets out his tapemeasure and measures it.

So far, neither of them have beaten the record Brooke set earlier* of two metres ten centimetres, much to their mutual annoyance.
