[OOM:

Ray and his merry band of .... well, something... head back to his world for some righteous vengeance. Thanks to their excellent choices of personnel, getting in is remarkably easy. Johnny Destiny makes sure that a few basic things go the right way- well begun is half done, after all- and then bestows some luck on the other unwilling guests.

Foxtrot has his merry way with the security people before heading off with Danny Phantom and ruining Walter Peck's day. Agent K and Matilda dispense a little explosive justice on the initial investigator on the Stantz case- as well as giving the big man of the organization food for thought.

Kitt Knight, Michael Donighal, and Obi-Wan Kenobi teach the organization a thing or two about hiring weak-willed security guards- and about centralizing their power controls and network access in one place.

And the others, well.... they wreak just as much havoc as they possibly can, especially once they find Peck's office. Thanks to the tender mercies of Foxtrot and Danny, Peck is in an absolutely sterling state of mind when he arrives shortly thereafter.

The presence of multiple Egons Spengler does not help this AT ALL.

Chaos wrought, our heroes start their long trek back up, finally make it to the light of day (or its fluorescent analogue), and head for home- or the Bar...]

Pair of Spengers in the bar, chatting animatedly, preparing for something. There's a third figure with them, this one lurking in shadows in a way that seems to indicate the shadows are conspiring with the lurking.

Why does the blonde one have a flute?

Ray is settled by the door-

No. No, that's not right. Settled implies that he's sitting calmly, and he's not. He's uncharacteristically tense. Normally if he's anticipating something he fairly vibrates in place, and right now he's... still. Absolutely, totally still, as he faces the door.

At least until it opens and re-admits Foxtrot X-Ray from his mission of earlier. Then Ray springs to his feet, crossing the space to the kitsune in two strides. There is murmuring, and conferring, and then Ray nods. "Right," he says, and looks around.

Ah. There.

Ray leaps up onto one of the tables and announces to all and sundry, "Excuse me! Excuse me, please! .... thank you.... Those of you who're aware of some unfortunate action on the part of some extremely unpleasant government agencies in my world may be interested to know that the gauntlet's been thrown down. Foliage Census reacted almost exactly the way we expected, so- it's time to go bust us some heads."

The wait-rats are looking at him as if they would dearly love to chew his ankles off, so he offers a weak, "Thank you," and climbs back down again.

[OOM: Foxtrot X-Ray plays herald for Ray Stantz and delivers an ultimatum to the head honcho of Foliage Census. Rated "U" for uncomfortable and reproductively penalizing demands.]

Oh look, 'tis a Matilda. She's carrying her usual bag, and something - perhaps a feeling, perhaps just whimsy - has prompted her to repack it. Thus it is that she has an ample supply of notebooks (three), origami paper (a stack at least three inches in height), and explosives (you don't even want to know).

K's at a booth by the bar, completing the last steps on a systems check of his scanner and Series 4 Deatomizer. Because an MiB must be ready for anything.

And, who knows, something might be happening this very night...

Peter was in the bar. Fully suited up, pack all ready and raring to go.
Game face on.
Looking all set to get down and boogie with Operation Kick Peck's Ass, and Get One Back for Ray.

Currently sitting at a table impatiently.

Consider if you will - a four-tail kitsune. He is moving through Milliways with a bit more purposefulness in his gait.

Foxtrot feels something in the air tonight. Maybe it's the news he's been waiting for. And he's on the look out for the God of Geeks to confirm.

Naraht is at a table, absently munching on granite and looking over some files projected on his holocomputer.

He asked Bar for some background on Walter Peck. She had it...files from ten different universes.

Naraht holds by the maxim "Know your enemy."

For those who are interested, a note has been left at the Bar indicating that the appropriate Ray Stantz has been recovered and is a patient in the infirmary.

16 May 2006 @ 12:41 am
There is a Horta in the Bar.

That, by itself, has not been unusual for this last year. But, this time, Naraht is watching the area of the Door intently. On the table beside him are various devices and supplies: medikits, tricorders, folding stretchers, blankets. There is also a large, chilled keg full of Ray's Green Stuff standing by.

He's been in this position ever since the rescue party left last night...and he's not gonna budge until they get back.

Blond-Egon walks into the bar in full array, and pins a note up on the board:

ATTENTION
Those who have offered to assist with the rescue of Ray Stantz. We have received numerous offers of assistance, but for this part of the mission we believe it best to be a small team. Therefore, my counterpart and myself have picked those best suited to going. They are:
  • Foxtrot X-Ray
  • Daniel Fenton
  • Peter Venkman
  • Both Dr. Egon Spenglers
We appreciate your offers of assistance, and are certain that Ray will, as well. However, we do not know what the situation will be, and therefore feel it to be counterproductive to bring more than a small team with us. Anyone else who has wished to be involved in this rescue, we ask you stand by in case assistance is needed, whether medical, physical, spiritual or clerical. Regards, Dr. Egon Spengler (the blond one)

That done, Egon sits at a table, waiting for the forces to gather. He's sure that someone will be annoyed.

(( OOM: Gone to Montana to rescue Ray, back later. ))

Ray is quietly going over a series of images on a small black computerized device given him a while ago by one Agent K. It's a fascinating experience to a guy from 1987.

He's really hoping he gets to keep it when he goes home.

12 May 2006 @ 11:01 pm

The notes are out, spread all over his table and layered in ways that normally take months on end to achieve back home. And yet, Ray is going over all of them- even if he does have to do it through stratigraphic analysis and investigation techniques.

There's gonna be trouble, and if he can't be there, he can at least contribute somehow.

12 May 2006 @ 10:57 am

Last night got interesting in a hurry for Ray, and then headed off in the direction of other people entirely. No, really; of all the people in Bar, Ray was the only one who genuinely couldn't contribute to what Egon and the others were discussing. Oh, sure, he could lend assistance on paper or with engineering here, but the simple fact was that before anyone could go through with Egon's plans, Ray was going to have to go back to his world and stay there.

He's in the Bar this morning in case Egon or someone else wants to ask him questions about what's coming up, but he's good for conversation in general.

...well, okay, so that's right out the window. But this is DIFFERENT.

The door swings open, and a man walks in. He is lanky and tall, and poring over a thick sheaf of papers. He is wearing a pair of round glasses, and in general seems to be somewhat distracted.

This would not be unusual for Milliways, really. Excepting that this man is an Egon Spengler.

All of which causes the Egon Spengler CURRENTLY in the bar to drop his glass of Ray's Green Stuff and stare.

At the sound of the glass dropping, the Egon with the papers looks up, and sees his alternate. They meet eyes, and EXACTLY THE SAME expression crosses their faces.

"Hm. Fascinating," they chorus.

By God, there's two of them.
