[OOM: The final night. Gorlim is forced reenact his betrayal and death.

While that happens, Mary Anne and Námo venture to the Halls of Mandos to await an ending they've both known about for some time. Near the end of their waiting, though, what they had been waiting for happens, and Námo seeks out Gorlim's spirit in the Halls. A decision is made, but Námo doesn't dwell long on what this means ultimately for himself or the ways of his own world.

Afterward, the three of them return to Milliways, and Námo bestows the same gift on Eilinel that he had given Gorlim, leaving the couple to themselves while retiring to his own room with Gabriel and Kelly.

Gorlim, at some point, leaves his room, but as he comes back, he finds Ruin waiting for him. There is a brief, very brief, exchange.

Later that night, as Námo lays in bed, Gorlim comes to his lover.

Warnings go to the first thread for violence.

Also, for those of you who are interested, you can find a comprehensive plot summary for this plot in Ruin's journal.]
15 June 2006 @ 12:42 am
[OOM: The thirteenth night - Ruin concocts a truly foul deception, and in the chaos of Gorlim's confusion, plants seeds of guilt for previously uncontemplated crimes. For all men kill the things they love, by each let this be heard: the coward does it with a kiss, the brave man with a sword. Has Gorlim managed both? [warnings for ye olde smut]

However, although men are easily fooled into believing what they see (especially when it is sitting on top of them doing some really novel things with their anatomy), Gorlim is a man who tends to believe what he wants to believe regardless of evidence to the contrary. In the past, this led him to some very destructive behaviour. Now, fortunately, because he wants to believe quite the opposite of Ruin's illusion, the spell breaks quickly, and Gorlim hurries to find Namo. They retreat to the cairn by the lake and at least one part of Ruin's falsely-implanted condemnations IS addressed, appealed, and pardoned. Other of Gorlim's conclusions remain to be addressed by persons with more authority on the subject (i.e., female), but these two, at least, are mended for the time being.

One night remains.

One card left in the Suit of Swords.

The end is about to be drawn...]

[oom: After breaking up with Julian and running into Fiona, Mary Anne does the mature thing and goes to hide out in her shower. Through a twist of fate (or a negelected twist of the deadbolt), she gets an unexpected visitor.

In which there is ineffective threatening, crying, apologies and...no need for any warnings whatsoever, except for the fact that the muns are now convinced they are in the Twilight Zone.]

Between having her lover fuck buddy boyfriend pain-in-the-ass Tarot card that she sometimes sleeps with make an illusionary double of her, having to convince people said double was not actually her and talking two of her friends out of hating her forever, Mary Anne's had a busy few days. She's beginning to think staying locked in her room was a better option.

Still, girl's gotta eat, so she's sitting at a table idly stabbing the remains of her dinner with a fork. Distraction would be welcome.

He is in the bar today.

His eyes closed, hands folded neatly on his belly, and he looks like he is sleeping.

But he isn't.

Ruin is very aware of anyone coming near him.

In the stables, in a far stall, comes the steady swish, swish, swish of a stiff-bristled brush over a mottled velvet shank, its steady rhythm interrupted on occasion by a hoof stamping the hay, a toss of a wild mane, or a soft murmur of breath through the nostrils.

And, gradually, a whisper of something like a song joins, sung by a rough, low voice, its accent heavy, its tune deep and steady.

Be still... )
["At a Concert of Music" by the magnificent Conrad Aiken]
The song is a meddle of hay-scent and horse-heat, a harmony that mingles with the barn sounds, and is sometimes almost lost in them. And this, too, ends, and the swish, swish, swish of the brush over velvet continues, uninterrupted, untroubled by the ghosts in the singer's mind.
11 June 2006 @ 06:20 pm
Gabriel is asleep in the carrier.

Námo is brooding.

There is one particular bar patron he is on the lookout for, but he probably wouldn't mind any company at the moment.
11 June 2006 @ 04:54 pm
Back here again. Of course.

Random has a list of things that need to be done in his head, and is ticking them off mentally as he goes along. Half of them envolve family members.

But one doesn't, so that's where he starts. A note is left at the bar, to Astarael, though he doesn't know her name.

After that, it's a seat, a glass of tequila, and people watching until he spots someone interesting. It's his Milliversary, after all. How better to spend it than watching life go by?

[OOM: Ruin, Night 12, Summarized (because the muns are just too... tired): Warnings for explicit sexual comments and violence. Also, a small OOC note is included at the bottom of the summary.]
05 June 2006 @ 04:04 am
[OOM: Curse of Immortality -- Námo and Mary Anne have a brief talk that involves both woe and discussion of nudity, which is followed by the frighteningly tender scene between Ruin and Mary Anne.

The muns deny all responsibility where Ruin and Mary Anne are concerned.

We're in the pillow fort.
05 June 2006 @ 12:11 am
[oom: a new form of therapy; Random breaks things. Then he's found, and imparts some news. Eventually he gets calmed down. No warnings.]
04 June 2006 @ 10:32 pm
[OOM: Unthreaded because the muns don't feel like it - Gorlim goes to Ruin, who injects him with eleven individual impressions, one after the other: what Barahir and his men felt as they died. What they thought. What they knew. Knowing it was him, and knowing they were done for. Their pain, what was done to them. Their last words, and who they yearned for as they died.

It was not pleasant.

Three nights left...]

So now there is a Gorlim in the bar. Seeking someone. Looking HARD. He knows he's here...

[ooc: Aaaand this is NOT a plot-lock, just please millitime all threads to after Namo's, and be aware that you are tagging into Suite of Swords plot if you DO tag here!]

Random, Prince of Amber, has some things to atend to.

He's sitting with his back to a wall and a scotch in his hand.

He likes this place, honestly he does, but there are some days where it makes him a little more jumpy than relaxed, and this time for pretty good reasons.
30 May 2006 @ 10:27 pm
[OOM: The kindest touch is cruellest. - Ruin delivers exquisite torment through the face of an old lover. Y'all remember El Vago? LOOKIE, ANDRES IS BACK!

Er. Ahem. Warning for sexx0rz. And Andres.]

Some hours later, Gorlim hauls himself down to the bar. White-faced, shaky, hair dripping wet, smelling of antiseptic soap. He cringes from the noise like a beaten dog. Three nights of nightmares in one week, and the last worst of all -- and sweetest. He has emptied his stomach and his soul, and his manic eyes are red. He stands rubbing his arms, one than the other, looking like a junky needing a fix.

He is looking. Looking for someone.

[ooc: Ye Olde Plot-lock, say sorry!]

[ooc Squared!: Gorlim may now be tagged here. Assume all threads are millitimed after Malcolm's, at which point Gorlim is just kinda.... there. Not-really-sleeping.]
28 May 2006 @ 09:01 pm
What have we here?

For the first time in ENTIRELY too long, it is a Gorlim. On the couch. Very much asleep. On his lap is a dark-haired girl some eight or nine months old, and at his side is a cup of tea, forgotten by its original benefactor, now being happily dabbled in by the infant. While her father naps, she is contentedly sticking her fingers into the milky substance and sucking at them.

Her papa looks for all the world like a nap is the best thing for him, but the baby is as cheerful and personable as anything. Come bug them both!
28 May 2006 @ 08:11 pm
Well, well. Look who got an entrance post.

Mary Anne's lounging in a booth nursing a glass of tequila. It's not a particularly bad night, just a proven medicinal fact that tequila helps bruises heal faster. And she is sporting a rather nice one along her cheek and jaw.

Come say hi. She'll be happy to extoll the healing properties of alcohol, or talk about pretty much anything else.
28 May 2006 @ 02:18 am
[OOM: First, there was this, where Mary Anne gets the crap smacked out of her by an angry Vala. Then, Gorlim came to Námo post date with Ruin. (Said date has been handwaved by the muns but the events are made clear in the OOM.)

After a little sleep, Námo wakes up, sick as hell, and he and Gorlim have a small chat before heading back to bed. Warnings in the first thread for some minor violence.]
27 May 2006 @ 07:10 pm
[OOM: Mary Anne comes looking for Ruin, ready to kick ass. Instead, there is some odd heart-to-heart, a confession from Ruin, and then rutting on the rooftop under the rain. Warnings for major, explicit smut.]
27 May 2006 @ 06:02 pm
Námo has been spending more and more time outside. The weather was warming and he often found himself out by the lake.

This afternoon was no different.

He had to be out here, away from the bar, because Ruin had Gorlim again tonight.

Another night where his lover would come back to him, broken in some new, unimaginative way.

Tall, hair dark and eyes darker, he stands near the lake, barefoot, wearing only trousers and a loose tunic.

[OOC: All tags will be millitimed to before Mary Anne's thread.]
18 May 2006 @ 10:26 pm
[OOM: Chosen Words -- Gorlim and Námo have a very brief thread that ends up with the Man walking out on the Vala. No real warnings.]
