Amy is in the bar, with a proper entry post for the first time in days tea and scones. She's trying to untangle the mess of thread that used to be her neatly organized sewing box.

Simon Perryvall, who came downstairs with her this evening, is not helping with that project very much. Of course, if he hadn't gotten into the workbox in the first place, it would still be neatly organized.

He is helping eat the scones, but he's a very small squirrel, and she's got rather a lot of scones.

Come talk to her? She'd welcome the excuse for a break, and will probably offer you a scone.

"Your hands are too full. I should know. Anyway, dropped out of school, which my parents weren't too thrilled about, partly because they'd been covering part of the tuition. And mostly, I think they thought I was wasting my potential and didn't listen when I said that wasn't it."
Angel shrugs. Parents are weird.

"I like to think that parents mean well," says Amy, "even when they get it wrong."

Hers do, at any rate.

"But you really do have to make some decisions for yourself."

"I'm inclined to think if my parents hadn't meant well, they would've objected to something well before I dropped out of college."
Not like they didn't have a few opportunities.

Amy looks up from the thread, curious. "Anything in particular, or just something in general?"

"Couple of things in particular, I guess."
Ah, obtuseness. Seems Angel's waiting for Amy to take a guess at that gender thing before going into detail.

"So long as they had your best interests at heart," she says.

It may be a very long wait. She's now assumed that whatever it is, Angel simply doesn't want to talk about it.

"My mother objected to ever so many things. Like my having freckles."

"Usually they did, I'll give them that. And their possible grounds for objections were... somewhat larger issues than freckles. I'm probably lucky they only picked up on one of the three."

"Then I'd say you were very fortunate," says Amy, "in your parents."

She breaks a piece off a scone and hands it to Simon Perryvall to keep him away from the newly straightened thread.

"Do you have any brothers or sisters?"

"Got a couple of sisters."

(OOC: Actually, Angel refuses to tell me whether he has any biological siblings, which is part of why this tag took so long. He's referring to his Millifamily, since they're apparently the more important one at the moment. XD)

"I have six," says Amy, "which is more than enough for anyone, and all older than I am. And one brother, who adopted me here."


[ooc: Sometimes they just like to keep secrets. And Amy generally considers her adopted brother vastly more important than her sisters, so no worries.]

"I mainly consider most of my really good friends to be my family. Sorta drifted away from the biological contingent after the school incident." Or before, in the case of relatives who were... not so understanding as Angel's parents.
"And since family tends to be what you make it, I've stuck with that."

"I'm certainly much closer to my brother than to any of my sisters," says Amy with a nod. "Besides, it makes sense that you should get to choose the most important people in your life."
