"...Oh dear. I'd forgotten about that." She looks amused, if a little sheepish. "Um. No, not yet. And not very much. I spoke with Adam," with a slightly odd tone in her voice. "And read, of course."

"Be sure to let me know if anyone applies," he says, looking amused, himself.

And then he takes a sip of tea.

"Of course. How is Adam?"

If the odd tone makes him slightly worried, he says nothing about it.

"I'll keep you informed."

She considers. "Our conversation consisted of me suggesting he start a wedding registery, him informing me I would be taking any of Puff and Lockheed's children if they ever have any, a brief discussion of the decor of Milliways, and him informing me rather firmly it would be all right for me to have intimate relations with you." She'd blush, but at this point, she's decided she'll be permanently red if she keeps it up, and she's just feeling rather helpless. "I don't think we really much discussed how he was, though he seemed well."

He chokes, a little bit, on his tea.

"...Do I want to know how that even came up in conversation?"

At least his tone is more wondering than anything else. But he's blushing enough for both of them.

"...And who are Puff and Lockheed, and why would you be taking their children?"

If Kitty or Edmund told him, perhaps he may be forgiven for having forgotten.

"Alanna and Kitty's dragons," Lucy answers, offering a napkin. "And because he assumed we already were, I think, and after I banged my forehead on the table he persued the subject."

Caspian is silent for a moment while he wonders how he feels about Adam pursuing the subject of whether or not he and Lucy are--

He shakes his head.

"Well," he says, a little at a loss.

And then grasps at the other comment like a drowning man to a life preserver.

"Dragons?"

And now she has one hand over her eyes. "As did Alanna. And Susan." She's not blushing. She does sound a little pained. "Reassure me it was all right, that is, not assume. Please don't ask how it came up, because I'm certain in neither case do you want to know. I rather wish I didn't. And yes, dragons. They each have one. Kitty's is purple. I think Alanna's is green. Small ones."

"Yes. I mean, no, yes, it's all right. I just--"

Am rather surprised that such details came up with not just one person, but three.

"You surprised me."

He runs a hand along his jaw, looking at her with a mixture of bewilderment, surprise, and resigned amusement.

"If you get a dragon, how likely would it be for it to start eating my clothes?"

"It's only fair. They surprised me."

And made her blush.

"I did ask that. Apparently you're doomed to it."

He looks at her, for a long moment, and decides not to tell her he wishes she'd talked to him about it. After all, they didn't get anywhere the last time they tried to make sense of the whole thing.

"I would imagine. And did they--" He rubs his hand over his eyes, briefly.

"Did they have any good advice? Perhaps a bit more thought out than Lilly's?"

And then, absently, "Well, that's alright, I suppose. Perhaps Edmund could help me hide them."

"He hasn't much luck with it," chin on her hand. "But I'm sure you'll think of something. And..."

She frowns, a little, thoughtfully more than anything. "Yes, actually, from all three. When the surreal factor faded enough I could think it seemed good, anyway."

"Then I think it's good you spoke with them," he says, gently, and reaches out to brush his thumb over her cheek, lightly.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to give you more to worry, or be confused about. I just..."

Well. She knows.

"I'd rather not have," under her breath. At least, not Adam.

After a moment she looks at him. "Would you answer a question for me?"

"Of course," he says, because he can't think of how to answer her other comment.

"If I can."

"What's it like?" Simply.

He takes a deep breath, and tries to clear his thoughts.

But he is no longer blushing.

"It's--I don't know, Lu. It's hard to explain. I think it's different for everyone. But--it's like...

(dance)

It was always rather awkward, at first. But you learn to trust each other and you learn how to move with each other, and you learn how to give, and to show, and in the end, it isn't so different from anything else you do together, because there's still laughter and trust and love. But there's always a moment of wonder, when you discover something new. And even though you're worried at the beginning about making a mistake or not knowing what to do, it's--it's one of the best feelings in the world."

He takes another breath, feeling rather exposed.

"I don't--did that--is that what you meant?"

"Yes," quietly. "May I ask another?"

"Yes," he says, just as quietly.

It's a moment as she studies her tea and then, "Will you show me?"

His eyes are serious, as he looks at her, but full of love and light.

"Yes," he says, after a long moment.

"If you want me to."

She lied to Adam.

She's terrified.

But it's somehow not that bad, either.

"I want you to." Because even if Aslan hadn't said they could want no wrong thing, she thinks this would feel right.

If she were to ask him, Caspian would admit that he is terrified, too.

But beyond the terror, there is the promise of Lucy and the thought of how he loves her.

So he nods, and reaches to brush her cheek, lightly, his fingers lingering at her neck.

"Then I will."

"I would like that," raising a hand and pressing it to his.

It's no less scary, but it is easier, a bit, to have decided, at the least.

"So would I," he says, leaning forward to kiss her lightly, and says, "I love you," softly against her mouth.

Scary it might be, but there is the joy of discovery as well.

It all balances out in the end.

"I love you too," before kissing him again, briefly. "A rather frightening amount."
