Dinner's long since gone, but Wells is still in the Bar. He's looking for people this time, and maybe a wolf. Depends on who he can find first, really.

This is definately a people. Sort of on the scrawny side, but a people. A people with telir, and a rather distinctive sword. (Its taller than he is)

Ah! That is, in fact, a people he was looking for. "Oi, Arithon," Wells calls, raising his voice slightly.

"Oi?"

He repeats, turning. His face is confused, but it brightens (this does not mean it gets less confused. Just brighter) when he sees Wells,

"Greetings! I trust everything is well?"

"'s just something we say to get attention, in my country," Wells says with a bit of a smile. "Nothin' fancy. I'm all right, and so's the wife. How've you been?"

He makes a gesture (and it is a very eloquent gesture) which seems to imply "Fucking Milliways" without him having to actually say anything,

"Much as always."

Wells nods. "Could be worse, I suppose," he says. "Me, I'm all right, but my student Zuko's in a bad way just at the moment. You know anything at all about werewolves, by any chance? Other than me, anyways?"

"Usually guided by the moon, often possessing a Beast which is not unlike the spirit of the wolf form, often enraged by the transformation, one of the beings I am capable of Binding."

He says after a moment of thought,

"Silver is often used for punishment or death."

Wells nods. "I can vouch for the death part, 'cos it was nearly the end of me on the island," he says sourly. "I passed the curse on to Zuko by mistake. The lad tried to keep me from biting myself when I went into a seizure. Seems I bit one of his fingers." He passes a hand over his face. "Went back to his own world, only it was full moon there, and now his magic's royally fucked up. He's stuck in wolf shape and can't get back."

"If I may be of help..."

And he flips his hands,

"With the werewolves of Jason's world, I am able to force the beast into a cage. I can make no promises."

*Andrew meanders by, with a sign under his arm -- he's just taken it off the bulletin board.*

Wells casts a glance at the sign. "Do I even want t'know?" he asks, jerking his chin at it. "And hallo, Andrew."

Uh -- a game I was running a few nights back got unexpectedly literal. Ever read a kids' book called Jumanji? It was a little like that.

"Can't say I have, no," Wells says, "but if it's anything like the fucking biscuit people that kidnapped Ace I'd say alcohol's prescribed, yeah. YOu all turn out all right?"

"Practicing my inimitable blackmail skills and doin' my best to sound fucking respectable without sounding like a damn dystopian dictator," Wells says. "I'll be going home soon, at least for a bit. The Ministry's got to get their little ultimatum, see."

"Thanks. If this works, Annie and I're thinkin' of moving to Yorkshire permanently. She's got family there- be easy for her to open another bakery, and me, well, I've got a job there at the farriery. London's got too many people in."

*There is a cat that idly rubs up against Wells' ankle as it passes.*

*It sneezes.*

*Curious and slightly accusatory, it looks up at Wells.*

Wells looks down at the cat. "No way you're natural," he says. "There's not a cat in the UK or Ireland that's willing to come near me, the way I smell."

It's not an apology or anything. Just a statement.

Wells nods. "Been one two years now," he says. "About the only beasts I do get on with are dogs, really. Everything else don't much care for the smell of me."

Pause.

"You from Narnia? I don't speak Cat, so I'm assuming you're talkin' to me in some other language entirely."

No, I am not from Narnia. One of my names I have been given is after someone from Narnia, though. From your accent, you are speaking and hearing me in English, am I right? I am speaking the common language of my siblings' world, yet everyone says I am speaking in English, and they are, too.

*He politely keeps his claw-kneading to Wells' boots.* Strange how in sound it translates perfectly, yet it does not translate the writing. I had to learn to read and write English after I came here.

Eh. Shedding's nothing new to someone who works in a farriery.

"English it is," Wells acknowledges. "DIdn't know about the writing, though. Never really had to read a message from anyone that wasn't writing in English t'begin with." He thinks for a bit, and adds, "What do I call you? My name's Harry Wells."
