Today, Nick decides, is an excellent day to explore the world that lay outside of the actual bar.

The fact that it seems to be raining crustaceans inside the bar today has absolutely nothing to do with this decision.

So he bundles up in a jacket, scarf, mittens and aviator-styled hat - all provided by Bar - and ventures outside.

It's cold.

It's the kind of cold that reminds him of home, though, and in a strange way it warms him up as quickly as it chilled him. While the wind blows against his face and twirls his scarf about every which way, he heads toward the lake. What is intended to be a quick glance at the water turns in to a long and thoughtful unbroken stare.

It takes a rather harsh gust of wind to snap him out of his reverie.

His eyes restlessly roam the landscape for a while, then, stopping on the forest for a few moments before straining to see what's hiding beyond the horizon. He can't help but wonder why he's here, what's going on in New York, what's going on Minnesota, whether he's really gone or just dreaming or --

-- and there he goes again, lost in a daydream.

Eventually, he will realize that his face is numb.

Eventually, but not yet.
