Somewhere very far away, the Moon's been restored and the ocean is driven mad with rage. And someone held out a hand in a last desperate offer of help, and had it rejected-
Fool! raged that faraway ocean. Idiot! Until you learn the sense you should have had, you shall not see this world the more! And a door opened between the ocean and another body of water, somewhere that's on no map or chart.
Were Ed the Master Shark still resident in the Milliways lake, he might well notice that part of the water just got a good deal saltier. Of course, the half-drowned armoured man in that water might be of more interest to him, since the man's attempts to get away and head for shore probably look a good deal like distress at first.
