It was difficult sneaking the guitar into the utility tunnels without attracting comment, especially since the most convenient entrance is via the restroom off the student lounge, but Enzo managed it. He's on a sofa now, trying out some of the sheet music Tommy gave him for Christmas. Happily, he's gotten a lot of practice recently, and his voice is decent enough, so no one's ears are actually likely to bleed.

"Hi, Bonzo! Don't they have guitars in your world? Tommy gave it to me back on my birthday."

Blink. "So that's what they look like these days..."

"Sure. They look like this in cyberspace, too. Are they different where you come from?"

Nod. "Yeah..." Pause. "Then again, I've only seen a few very old ones. Sheltered childhood and all."

"What'd they look like?"

A pad of paper and a pencil appear, and Bonzo draws a rough sketch of a classical guitar. Basically, a very simple design. "They're not even electronic."

"Oooooh, yeah. Bob got an analog guitar here. I mean, what's it, acoustic. We don't have 'em much in cyberspace, but sometimes you see 'em in Games."

Nod. "Yeah...I've heard of these once or twice, but I've never actually seen one."

"They sound a lot different." He plays a sample chord: WHAUMMMMM. "It's better with an amp, but it was hard enough getting this here without people noticing. I had to go through the bathroom."

And Bonzo snerks at that comment. "That's how I usually get in here..." And an eyeroll. "Bar has a sense of humor, from what I can tell."

Enzo grins. "Oh, that wasn't the Door. The lounge bathroom has a door into the utility software tunnels, and the Door here's in there."

"That's what I meant. I come in here over there..." Gesture to the Door. "But the door's in a bathroom back home."

"Ooooh, okay. 'Course, there're other ways into the tunnels, so I don't really have to come through the bathroom, but it's the closest."

"I take it that the Bar decided to appear in odd places?" Pause. "I've heard of that happening to other people, but it's always been a bathroom of some kind for me."

"I've only found this one Door in, at least so far, and it's the door to a fan room, so I gotta get into the tunnels first. At home, I usually came in through our upstairs closet. The first time I came in was through the Diner, though."

And Bonzo nods to that. "I remember that door in your house; we came out there when I went to help you out in Mainframe." Pause. "Did you say a fan room?"

"Mm-hmm. You know, the cooling system."

"I figured..." Pause, with a bit of a smile. "What were you doing in there, anyway?"

"The first time?" Sigh. "Trying to be alone."

And a knowing smile emerges on Bonzo's face. "I know how you feel." Pause. "We didn't even have utility tunnels to hide in at Battle School." Not that he'd ever had much reason to need to hide, but...the option wasn't there anyway.

"I don't feel like hiding as much now, I made up with Alvey." He feels so much better now that one problem is taken care of. "People still aren't talking to me much, though."

"Give it a little time. They'll get over it." Smile.

Enzo grins. "AndrAIa said she had an idea for how to make 'em stop, but she wouldn't say what. Actually, she said they'd keep staring, but it'd be a better kind of staring." Should be a pleasant change of pace, at least.

"I'm not sure I even want to know..."

"I dunno, but I bet it'll be fun!"
