Bonzo is in the Bar. He notices the sign (which he somehow missed last night).

There is an unhappy look on his face upon seeing it, but he wanders over and attempts to pay.

"Bar, what's my balance?"

A sheet comes up. The most important number, at the bottom, is naturally what he owes.

"Twenty-five thousand dollars? You've got to be kidding me." Pause. "Alright, let me pull up my accounts..."

And gets a rather frustrating note from the Bar:

ACCOUNT FROZEN

So much for my main account...

And then he tries another account, one that's held under his assumed name.

ACCOUNT LOCKED UNTIL 2185

"Shit."

Ladies and gentlemen, Bonzo Madrid is officially broke.

Blink. "Oh?"

Aren't cryptic statements fun?

"What I gave Bar was enough to last a life time... possibly longer if I really wanted it to."

"Wow." And Bonzo feels just a bit dizzy...this is the first time that he can recall in many years that someone's been so generous.

Frankly, he's at a loss on how to react. "Thanks."

It just seems a tad...you know, insufficient.

Normally he's only nice when it's a contract kill and they don't know it's their time to die yet. But that isn't the case with this man. No, it's the simple fact that he's... well, in a good mood. A part of him feeling that Nicky is alright. The girl could take care of herself.

"You're welcome."

Pause. Awkward pause, actually. "So, where are you from?"

"New York." Among other places. He still wasn't too entirely sure on where he was from. Too many damn passports. "Yourself?"

"Spain, originally." Pause. "Currently on a colony ship."

"I can't say where I truly originated from. I've been all over." Jason states before raising a brow. "That must be hard."

A sigh. "It's...interesting. A bit of an adventure, you might say." Pause. "I got onboard when I was suffering from some very bad amnesia. That's why one of those accounts is locked down."

How much to tell... it couldn't be traced back... "I had amnesia. Still do a bit. But at least I know more than I started out with when I was found floating in the ocean."

"Found floating in the ocean?" Pause. "I just woke up in a room here one day."

Translation: Congrats. You've outdone me.

He wouldn't see it that way. But then again he doesn't see a lot the way others would.

"By a few fisherman, yes. As for how I got here, I walked out of the East River and found myself in the middle of a bar."

That gets a few points for originality. "Bar does have a habit of pulling people in at the strangest times."

"So I've noticed. But now it's a matter of going back and making sure she's alright."

"She?"

That's a new piece of information, if you will, and Bonzo can't tell if she is a wife, girlfriend, etc.

"Nicolette." He says simply. "A good friend of mine who's helped me through a lot." Someone who had ties to his past.

"Ah." Pause. "She in trouble?"

Subtext: Can I help? I do owe you one (at least in my mind).

"Trouble follows us around. She tends to take care of herself though any help for her would be welcome."

There's something of a smirk at 'trouble follows us around'. Now, that is something he is eminently familiar with: He and Petra had to confront and...er...take care of the same villain three times (his world, her world, and a version that came into the Bar).

"I'm happy to help."

He notes the smirk and chuckles a bit. "Same problem then I take it?" He asks watching Bonzo. This man, even if they didn't have too much in common, interested him. But maybe it was just his demeanor so far.

"And thanks. Once I figure out how to manage that one I'll let you know."

"Yeah, something like that." Pause. "There was this guy who just...wouldn't die no matter how many times Petra and I killed him."

And, after another pause... "Not a problem. It's not like I've got much better to do." Even with Dooku, he's got enough spare time to be bored out of his mind.

"Sounds like you two were put through hell." But then again so had he and Nicky. Treadstone had tried to kill them both on more than one occassion. They'd killed someone very important to him before Nicky.

"Get bored that easily?"

"To make a long story short, I've been in here the majority of the time since I was thirteen." Pause. "I don't have a job here, and even training with Dooku doesn't fill my schedule out."

"Well... I can see where that would get boring." After all, not having a job and training... not really much to all of that.

"Yeah." Pause. "It's not like I'm easily bored, Mr. Cain. But...I look forward to making myself useful, that's all."

He merely gives a nod. "I'm sure something can be done to make it so." He watches him for a moment. "I've got a few things I need to do but if you ever need help or need someone to talk to come and find me or leave a note with Bar."

"Will do, sir." Simple as that.
