John, Bar, breakfast, tea, cigarettes, books, scratch paper --
hey, what now? That's right -- John is working on something. Who knew?
He has a pile of three or four books spread around, two of which are open before him. (The closed one on top of the pile has a large 777 on the cover.) He's flipping pages and scribbling on his pad, and occasionally throwing a pair of dice and cursing at the results, and striking out whatever he's written, and starting again.
And smoking. And drinking tea. And eating eggs. He's a multi-tasker, is our John.
