On a couch by the fire, Demyx is still a little damp. He's sprawled out just the same in an extended nap, earphones still in with Paganini's caprice in A minor, Op. 1 No. 24 playing.

[OOMs:

"You make me feel human again." Trying to turn this into some kind of joke, "As odd as that sounds. Like any other man walking down the street with his life ahead of him, instead of the same day again and again."]

Considering what's up at home right now, Lissar is taking a few precious moments to rest. Things are undoubtedly going to get bad back home. That's...not fine. But she can handle it because she needs to handle it because someone must handle it.

She will not allow herself to worry about her family. Not until things get bad instead of the threat merely looming.

She's wearing stompy boots under her usual clothing instead of her usual sandals. Ace says that makes things better. So far Lissar isn't really...feeling better. She's willing to give it a try.

They say the most wonderful things in life happen by the simple virtue of a stroke of luck. Call it chance. Fate. A cheeky wink and a come hither wave of the hand from Lady Fortuna. Call it anything you want.

They also say that the most wonderful things happen right when you least expect it, right when you've stopped hoping for a change of pace or a lucky break.

They say the damnedest things.

Lorne is in the house, having a drink (with frills on!) and a game of Solitaire.

Tim walks into the bar from NCIS headquarters wearing his usual suit and is suprised when he finds himself in Milliways again rather then the Elevator. With a shrug he takes a seat at bar and asks for a pen and paper to make a sign. Both of which appear and then he takes a seat in a booth.

He makes sure that the sign is properly on display and starts to watch the bar.

A bored Jenny is a dangerous Jenny. Many of the patrons here in Milliways can attest to that.

Today is one of those days where running hasn't calmed her and her current planet of choice (a lovely tropical hideaway by the name of Dragoon) just isn't interesting enough. So when she approaches the bar and receives a note regarding 'tending, her face lights up.

Minutes later, the specialties board reads the following:

Tonight's Specials:
Jewel of the Nile
Jitterbug
Jamaica Me Crazy

Sing me a song and you'll get half off!

There is, of course, no guarantee that any of these drinks will taste good. But with a smug look on her face, she puts down the bar tending guide and stands ready to serve.

Anna is not yodeling tonight. Or working on her lines for her play.

She is, instead, working on the last of her summer assignments. She has already written her report on "The Life of a Saint" (she picked Michael) and now she just has to draw the accompanying illustration.

She's not sure she's managed to make the devil look, you know, sufficiently scared, and has paused to evaluate.

[[OOM: A New York party, and a passing disagreement -- millitimed to a few days ago]]

There are an infinite number of worlds; and each world holds an infinite number of new things that Teja has not heard of before, as he is an Ostrogoth who died in 552 AD. So now and then, one world or another throws him a curve ball: - and by now, Teja knows what a curve ball is, and that is one of the new things he lately learned about.

Others are more bewildering, like the customs of Charlie's world; Teja feels that he has done something wrong there, or does not fully understand what had happened, but he knows not who he might ask, without talking about Charlie in ways he might not like.

So he can just as well learn about base-ball.

He has a news-paper, the same news-paper he struck Ramon Salazar with a few days ago (and the same that Donovan and Demeter hid behind, even earlier, if truth were known), and while he had been looking for things about base-ball, he found something else to rather shock him. Oh, he can see that arming women may be a good thing, but these people are apparently taking it a bit far.

Especially in the last paragraph...

[oom: Finding their way.]

Guppy comes in through the front door, placing a small red bag on the bar as he gets in. He orders tea and opens the bag.

"Right, let's see what you've brought home." he says to himself, opening the bag and pulling out... "A lovely picture made of... pasta..."

He picks it up to see if it'll hang on a wall, and stares in dismay as twenty pieces of dried pasta with paint blobs on fall straight off onto the bar and the floor.

"Dammit... knowing him he'll notice." He starts scrabbling for the bits and trying to remember where they were approximately.

There's a Sam!

He's at the bar, being all... Sammy.

You should talk to him.

~

There's also a Molly, sitting in a low-ish branch of a tree outside. She has bubbles!

~

There is, furthermore, an eighteen-year-old Minerva McGonagall sitting by the fire with a butterbeer and a book. For once, it's not a schoolbook: the words on the cover read in gold Old Whizzbee's Book of Practical Bats.

~

And, last but not least, a tired knight, lord and middle-aged cynic is slouched on a couch with a glass of spiced apple juice, looking suspiciously like he might be mostly asleep.

His friends call him Raoul.

[OOC: First of all, the mun apologises for this EP and blames the hangover. The going-away party last night was fun. Second of all, taggers should bear in mind that the mun is off to London on Wednesday and thence to Paris for a year with unknown levels of internet. Any slowtimes after tomorrow night will be either exceptionally slow or dropped completely depending on your preference and my levels of brain activity.]

Spy's nearly humming as he steps into Milliways today. It's been a lovely productive day with a minimum of being burnt to death (or clobbered, exploded, etc.) and a good deal of backstabs all around.

"Could I 'ave a copy of my world's current Progrès Dimanche and a glass of my usual? Ah, merci." He settles on to a chair at the bar, newspaper in hand and proceeds, by all appearances, to begin reading it.

[Open forever.]

Out of Milliways: After the bear, the crazy superheroes. Spoilers for Fallout 3.

The door opens, and a bedraggled-looking Tyler Marlocke and Ellen Park make their way in, an odd-eyed Blue Heeler dog behind them. "Oh, thank God," Ellen says, wiping ineffectually at her begrimed face. "I was half afraid that door wouldn't work. You want anything, Tyler? I'm buying..."
