Word around the Guild has it that a firstie got themselves killed the other night.
This doesn't really come as a surprise to Cata; for one thing, it's an occupational hazard of being a student at the Assassins' Guild. For another, this year's incoming students have featured a few more of the sort who think it would be a glamorous job and who aren't as inclined to be cautious when they go about it. And really, if one of her beginners' classes is one student smaller, she's not about to argue (she'd really only be upset if it turned out she'd graded their latest work for nothing).
She's at her usual table - one that commands an excellent view of the entire bar - going through some of the work her advanced students have turned in recently. But just because she finds the advanced work a bit easier to stomach doesn't mean she'd turn away an interruption.
