Something is not right with Milliways and it goes beyond the obvious broken furniture and earthquake. Val noticed it with the first attack of vertigo. At first she thought maybe she just sick but she had no other symptoms. Eventually she determined her powers were the source of her discomfort and with the help of her computer determined the shape of Milliways space was influx. Now as to how or what is causing this? That she hasn't determined yet and she had every intention of determining this until she spied Galactus out the Observation Window.

Now she's researching any data file she can find to try and construct an Ultimate Nullifier. She's also wearing her old Fantastic Four tunic. If it's the end of the world, the Fantastic Four will be there, one way or another.

And it seems the discomfort is passing around to teens as Thalia is also downstairs. In her case she's nursing a cheeseburger and coke instead of playing with technology. She'd paler than normal and there are serious bags under her eyes. Someone has not been sleeping well.

[OOC- And I'm not really here as I'm still packing stuff from moving but I wanted to get this up. Slows until tomorrow.]

Well, despite all else, the elevator's still functioning... for now. Claudia's decided she doesn't really want to get stuck in the garage if something borks that, so she's coming out of said elevator now, bridge device in tow.
(yes, the danger must be growing)
She pulls the cart said bridge device is resting on over to the Bar, and says, "Hey, I know things have been... wonky for you lately, but I need some parts for this thing, if you could?" She deposits a list on the countertop, and it disappears.
(for the rowers keep on rowing)
Nothing else happens for a few moments; Claudia's just about to give up and try to figure out what she can do lunchwise when a box appears. Said box has everything she asked for in it.
(and they certainly aren't showing)
"Oh! Um... thanks." And if Claudia sounds a little hesitant about that, it's because she can't decide if it's a good thing or a bad thing that this worked when food's been all over the place.
(any signs that they are slowing)
She sticks the box on the cart, wheels the whole thing over to a table (after eyeing the red Sims crystal for a moment - that can't be good), and starts looking around for one of the waitrats to see about that lunch before she really gets going.

A text window is hovering in front of the bulletin board, and several more are floating in slow circuits around the bar:

Anyone who is Bound or having trouble with their Door, and has nowhere else to stay, is welcome to come stay in Mainframe as long as necessary until we can find a way to get you home. You will have to be digitized (turned into a sprite) first. Please see Enzo Matrix (green skin, blue uniform).

Sirona, who admittedly likes strange get-ups, today comes in with the strangest clothes yet. The upper part reminds you of a 18th century military uniform, complete with white curly wig and tricorne hat, but the lower part is decidedly more cheerleader-like. Today is the height of the carnival season where she's from, and the goddess has been celebrating along with everybody else. She just pops into Milliways for a breather, calling out a final 'Helau!' before looking around, almost in shock.

She had guessed there was something wrong, after T-Minus had blipped for a few days, and then there was this useless time line that ended in a worryingly close future. But this? This is worse than she thought. There is a general feeling of doom and worry, there are several worrying things looming right at the observation window, there are cracks in the wall and the ceiling, the back door is rotting, and everybody is slightly transparent.

Ooops. "Hey, people, it's supposed to be Carnival!" Sirona says, looking around. Why isn't anybody drinking and making merry, especially as on Ash Wednesday, everything will be over, as is traditional? She walks up to the bar. "Hey, Bar, it's carnival -- all drinks are on me until it's over? Tell people to have fun?" The bar isn't working very well any more, but a sign appears, and Sirona hangs it up.

Helau! It's carnival! Get drunk, party like it's the end of the world, and have fun!
On Ash Wednesday, everything is over.
All drinks until the apocalypse are on Sirona!

Then, she reaches into her pockets, pulls out some wrapped candy (both fruit and toffee) and throws it around at everybody, as is traditional. "Helau!" Oh dear, the world's about to end, and all you can still do about it is party? So let's do that. "Helau!"

[[OOC: Yes, all tab from now until the Allpocalypse is on Sirona, as I said. She's not going to be back and pay it, though, as I'm not taking her along to Dreamwidth.]]

"What the heck????"

He's transparent. Sort of. It's not like you can see his parts under the steel skin. But he's transparent.

And the bar is a mess. And...what are those things outside the window? And why is the sky outside red?

"This isn't good."

There's all sorts of things happening out there, in that vast Big Crunch, huh?

Totally expected by now to have a Blue Unicorn press it's face against the window from the outside and make zerberts at the bar. A Pink Unicorn is swimming upside behind it.

"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii," Blue coos.

[[After this]]

Urquhart is lounging on a sofa by the fireplace, reading a book and sipping whiskey from a glass that is is dangling from his fingers while he is reading. Why worry if there's nothing else you can do? As long as the ceiling's not crumbling in his whiskey, Urquhart won't be bothered.

Especially as he knows the dog (who is snoring cutely by his master's feet) will be going to safety, one way or another.

She spoke to Walter not long after returning from Milliways several nights ago. Dr. Bishop didn't sound too happy about her latest findings; in fact -- no longer so enthused about having a multiuniversal space to explore, now that said space was crumbling -- he implored her to find a way to sever her connection to the bar, lest any of the disasters bleed across into their universe.

Olivia tried to explain that she was pretty certain it didn't work that way. Be certain, he thundered, and didn't calm down until Peter, Astrid, and Olivia all threw their efforts into soothing him. (It involved a milkshake and an emergency run to the corner store for Red Vines.)

If nothing else, being preoccupied with the bar seems to make it easier to find: this time, when she opens the door, barely any surprise crosses Olivia's face.

That lasts until she notices how transparent everything has become. Like a building being sucked away; like a shimmer, without the skip-stutter marking it as something specifically from the Other Side.

Olivia goes rigid. Moments later, she's striding through the room -- pausing just long enough to read the (thoroughly inadequate, to her) evacuation notice -- and asking in urgent undertones if anyone could point her toward Mike, Sallie, or a member of security.

Things look bad.

Like, really bad. Impending end-of-the-End-of-the-Universe bad.

And as all well-trained Sunnydale alumni / Watchers / supernatural troubleshooters know, when signs and portents start showing up ... the thing to do is hit the library.

Andrew doesn't spend as much time as you might think in the Milliways library, partly because he's got a pretty extensive one back home, partly because ... well, this library's always seemed easier than most to get lost in.

[Plotlocked. There will be a taggable EP later!]

Out in the woods, the bunnies sniff the air and hop tentatively through the underbrush.  Things are changing here; something is happening.  A lot of things have appeared over the last few sunrises and sunsets, and now there is one more thing.

A Thing has appeared, a Thing about as tall as a bunny can stretch up high and as long as five or six bunnies side-by-side, shaped like a log with closed ends.  One time when the light in the sky went away, it was not there and then when the light came back, it was.  The bunnies have sniffed it, circled it, watched it and it has not moved, has made no noise except a low, waiting hum deep inside it.

It does nothing, in fact, except for one small part on one side which glows steadily.  A brilliant red glow, one red stick and two red circles, like two demon bunny eyes staring back at them.

The bunnies sniff at it once more, then run into their burrow as darkness gathers in the woods.  As night falls, the only light in that section of the forest is that one red glow.

1:00
It's not bright enough to illuminate the small sticker on the side, almost hidden in the underbrush, and of course even if it was, the bunnies wouldn't understand what was written there: a place name, a serial number, a hazard warning about electromagnetic fields, and a materials reference number starting with the letters E, M, P.

Outside, in the skies of the lake area, there is a flash of green as a large, dark shape wreathed with lightning looms into existence.

It's a planet - or a warped, twisted planetoid, with a graveyard of broken and mangled husks of starships orbiting it, circling above the lake area all too close for comfort. It hangs there, motionless, as the snow on the tips of the mountaintops start to drift upwards towards it.

It is far away. Too far to really be a problem. At least for the moment.

[OOC: So this is Malachor V! It is, amongst other things, a wound in the Force - which means that there is the potential, for anybody who wants it to do so, for it to have a corrupting effect on pups, essentially driving them insane. Reaction posts can go here, too, if anybody wants to react.]

The feast of Angels can only hold back the inevitable for so long.

The crack in the wall is wider than before, enough that there is the hint of light showing through from whatever is behind it.

Near the edge, a shaft of light breaks through at the corner and falls upon the man sitting...

Actually, never mind. There's no man there. And there never was. Ever.

[ooc: not referring to any specific character, since they never existed anyway and therefore never came to Milliways.]
