It's not all that unusual to see musicians about the bar, especially at the moment.
(we'll fight for your music halls and dying cities)
But one might wonder if most of them look so pleased with the amount of music going around as does the young man in the corner. And really, why's he using such a crappy-looking guitar?

(they'll fight for your neural walls and plasticities)
Whatever the case may be, Buddy's rather enjoying himself at the moment. He'd probably even be willing to take some requests, if you had them.

Today was a day spent at the Citadel in training and preparation with Knight-Captain Colvin. That's always an educational experience, both in terms of combat and in terms of Brotherhood philosophy, history, and theology. Today, the education was in preparatory economics- the importance of not only having the caps and resources to get a project running and functional during its first few months, but in establishing the kind of base necessary to keep it running in the long term. After all, you couldn't simply swoop down on a prewar research facility and walk off with all the tech inside; you had to have the resources to analyze it all, and the caps to pay the people involved for the time it would take to break it down and test it out. And if you couldn't swoop in the first place you'd have to be able to maintain security and on-site presence until the extraction was complete, not to mention all the resources they'd need to keep doing their work and then keeping that work up, and-

Well. The point was that you had to have a very large cap cushion to start with on any major project, and then you had to be able to either infuse it with cash on a regular basis until it either came to its conclusion or was able to pay for itself. The water purifier was slowly becoming self-sustaining, cap-wise- very slowly, but it was happening. This was good. Unfortunately, it meant that while Ellen had permission to proceed with reclaiming the RobCo factory for the Brotherhood, she wasn't going to see a whole lot of Brotherhood funding just yet- especially not with the Outcasts sniffing around...

Well. (Again.) There are other ways to raise funds. Ellen's in Milliways with a bottle of Nuka-Cola and a couple of maps and clipboards' worth of information, going over some of them with Dogmeat gnawing on something under the table. It is entirely likely that she could be interrupted without difficulty.

Hot day, summer in the city. And Gotham can be brutal. So Knox is happily taking in a cold beer in the moments between leaving the office and walking to Gotham Central Station. Even though the paper's offices have an AC system that could keep beef fresh for a week. Better to fortify against the heat than to do anything else.

Come say hi.

Meg Ford has a long list of names and addresses in front of her, several piles of envelopes, and two piles of formal wedding invitations, one in English and one in French.

In a little under two months, Meg Ford is getting married, which means it's time to get the invitations in the mail. And as her handwriting is significantly better than that of the groom . . . well, he gets to deal actually mailing them, but addressing them all is her job.

And working on them in Milliways means not losing an entire day to this particular project.

Meg finishes addressing another envelope, double checks the spelling of Alain's cousins' names, sets the envelope in the box for Finished Invitations, and makes a neat check mark on her list.

[OOM: After finding their way home from Milliways, Henry and Karen talk about a lot of deep issues... including what's going on with them. Tender sweetness, apple pie, bad jokes, and making love ensue.]

Teja has been busy with music; he has even gone to the future again, riding his motorcycle to Florence by the route he had once taken with Yrael, to buy another guitar -- one that needs electric power, one that can truly wail.

When he returns with it and orders a cup of well-watered wine, he gets a napkin asking him to serve a shift.

Why not?

He puts up some specials:

Ale
Cider
Red or white wine
Atlantean -- only for the bold!

His fingers are itching to play, but he shall do his duty first.

And maybe play when there is time.
