cook_the_rude: (Informal cannibal day on the beach)

Gone is the ice on the lake, gone are the snowy slopes, and gone are the revellers and the party food. It's warm and quiet again outside today.

At the Caribbean inlet, in the sun-dappled shade, sits Dr. Hannibal Lecter on a rather bent palm tree that extends far over the water, dangling bare feet into the gently crashing surf. He's in shirtsleeves and linen slacks and wearing a fine Panama hat.

In one hand he has a glass of cool, pink wine; in the other, he holds what looks like a scientific publication, which he is reading some of the time.

At other times, he just gazes out at the lake, watching birds skim, and things jump from the water.

[[meta: last thread before iceland! mun goes away on sunday to visit café loki opposite hallgrímskirkja (and a few other things), so this post is open for tagging until saturday night; after that, all extant threads will continue in glacial slowtime via iPad. of which the mun has the same model (and the same cover) as hannibal himself, as it turned out.]]

Out of Milliways: "Who lingers at the threshold of transcendence?"
"What?"

[OOC: dialogue mostly taken from Point Lookout DLC for Fallout 3.]

High summer is upon the bar, and the garden is overflowing with color. Two figures enter from the side door with armfuls of vibrant blooms. After settling at a central table, ten-year-old Rae Seddon proceeds to instruct Autor in the time-honored art of making flower crowns.

The boy found it to be a little like knitting, in a way. Completely frustrating and only resulting in beauty after his fifth try or so. Ever the happy teacher, Rae beams at him as he perches the first of his suitable attempts on her hair.

Botherable.

It's been a while since Twilight was seen in Milliways. Her advanced magic studies have been keeping her busy.

But now... well, she's still not technically in Milliways, but she's seated beneath a tree out back, reading a tome about the history and culture of Saddle Arabia.

She is, of course, taking copious notes.
will_scarlett: (skeptical)

When Milliways appeared in Sherwood, Will was glad of it as the days have been full and hot.

He heads to the lake where he strips down to his hose, making a pile of the rest of his clothing with his sword and dagger and boots on top before plunging in to the lake.

Then he gets out to lay on the pier with his shirt off and drink the beer he picked up on his way outside.

Once the sun's gone down, he'll head inside and relax by the fire but for now, its nice to be outside where no one is going to appear and try to fight him. Though it does look like there was a major fight here but there aren't bodies which is good.

(OOC: Find him in the lake, by the lake or inside. Open until it scrolls.)

There wasn't a yoma in Milliways the other day. The humans who encountered it did so elsewhere; there's no yoma aura anywhere that Clare can detect.

And the humans survived. Somehow, they even killed it. That means it was a weak yoma, and a slow one, but still. For two humans, it's still impressive.

It makes Clare think of things. Of Galk and Sid; of her world, and the villages there; of Raki.

She's outside, standing by the lakeshore, watching the bar blankly thoughtfully. Maybe later she'll go inside.

[OOC: If you'd rather, your character can also encounter her inside, where she will be standing near the lake door watching the room.]
ambriel: (Default)

Ambriel is outside, examining an uprooted tree. It seems there was a very large disturbance here.

But no metaphysical damage to the structure of Milliways. Nothing to worry about, then. Just something to keep an eye out for.

The angel perches at the top of the upturned roots and looks out over the lake.
