Shephard's still kinda trying to wrap his head around it.
Being the kind of person he is, that takes the form of being out at the target range behind Milliways. He has his M40A1 with him, and plenty of targets far enough downrange that he really ought to be working with a spotter; at the moment he doesn't much care. He can see what he's doing just fine, thanks.
There'll be pistol work later. Dealing with a sudden and unexpected addition to his family structure takes a lot of bullets sometimes.
