(OOM: Alarm.
)The door slams open, and Sunshine comes stumbling backwards through the door of Milliways, her frightened gaze caught by the small, tangled mess of broken wards and magic swarming swiftly after her. Trying to keep her distance, Rae tries everything to stop it. Magic or not, there is no Yolande with her steady, powerful wards to stop a fetch here.
The fetch and the tangle of breaking wards melt through the barrier she summons as though it weren't even there. She tries fire, but magic wards don't take well to magic-induced fire - if anything her effort damaged them more than the fetch itself. Fetches are built to be immune, after all. No normal civilian could disable one - that was the whole point. They could be contained, sometimes, but never fully stopped until they had completed their objective. The fire fades into nothing, the following ball of lightning crackling ineffectually through it, ice shattering like spun sugar, and the time-slowing spell cast in desperation glides off the fetch like water off a duck's back. There seems to be no way she can stop it - and to touch it would be to....
Sunshine's mind refuses to go there. The fetch swarms after Rae with single-minded purpose, shedding bits and pieces of broken wards upon the floor in its wake. Sunshine bumps into the Bar, and only just has time to climb up onto a bar stool as it reaches her feet. But she can't stop - the fetch is already intently climbing up the side of the Bar. She scrambles back onto the surface of the Bar itself, and has only enough time to shout a frantic request to the Bar before half-falling off the other side, her momentum carrying her into the edge of the counter.
So she can see, in the following half-second, the unhindered fetch coming quickly over the lip of the counter, and the sudden appearance of the clear case surrounding it. Pressed against the back counter, the bottles of alcohol behind her rattling from her impact, Rae watches the fetch skitter ineffectually within the sealed case. Contained. Unable to get out.
Safe. For now.
Breathing for the first time since she saw the thing, Rae feels her shaking knees give way beneath her, and she sits down hard.
