His name is Barry Allen, and he's recently awakened from a coma. He was in S.T.A.R. labs and intended to leave quickly to go see his family and let them know he's okay. But what he didn't expect was the door to open to a bar instead.

He sort of stays in the doorway and gapes at it before turning to speak to a person that's behind him. "Did the Lab just get a lot more fun, or is something weird going on here?"

Maybe he's hallucinating, or still unconscious. That's two things he can think of that would explain this. But he knows neither are true, and as he steps inside, he studies as much of the surroundings as quickly as he can from his vantage point. This is not only strange, it's utterly baffling, and he's not sure what to do with this situation. Help a confused guy out?

Noriko is no alone when she comes into the bar today.

She has a tiny passenger in the loop of her scarf today, a smallish bundle of spikes in dark grey and creamy white which she's smiling at as the tips of her fingers tickle its belly. (It's a hedgehog, a new pet, which seems to be quite content to rest in the soft woven scarf like a hammock. For being supposedly clumsy creatures, this one's quite at home in all kinds of directions.) Settling at the bar, she sets him to his feet and looks at the bar.

"Okay, weird request. Can I get like, a handful of freeze-dried mealworms? Supposedly he'll eat them," she murmurs. "And a chocolate shake."

Once again, Matilda's in the bar with a book, but this time it's neither a comic or novel, but a text book.

Her mum's spoken with a few other people, and while she would've liked to put Matilda through secondary school, they feared what it would be to have a small girl with so many other older students, especially ones open to peer pressure already.  She'd managed the top form of primary school easy enough, atleast no one seemed to notice or care that a small girl was in the top form. In the end, they decided to try the first year and see how things went.

Matilda wasn't sure what she thought of about this. On the one hand, the older girls in her form weren't as bad as she feared, so the ones in the secondary classes couldn't be so different but even so, she wasn't likely to trust older form girls who were may see her as a joke. In the end, she found most older students looked at her like a novelty for a month before they got bored, and she was able to focus on her studies.

Really, the other things they talked about: clothes, partying and everything else didn't bother her as much as others feared. Truthfully, she never saw the big deal.

What was a big deal was the studying. Talk was going around of A levels, and while Matilda didn't know exactly what those were yet, she knew they were exams and they required studying. Right now, she only looked to them because she could.

Which was why she was in milliways now, and looking over a book in computer sciences. This was one of the subjects tested and word around was that computers were the next thing to look into. Truth be told, Matilda would rather work on them then read about them, but she spoke with the man at the electronics shop and he said the most he could do was maybe pay her to help with a few deliveries. She had to be 16 before he could hire her as an employee.

Well, it was something, and more reliable then selling used comics.

She turned the page, a pencil and paper in hand to take notes, usually important words and definitions. Of course, a break would be welcomed too.

[Immediately after this....]

The front door cracks open.

"... right now, Madam President?" There's the faintest hint of alarm in Hoshi's voice, quickly controlled.

"I don't see any reason to wait, do you, Lieutenant?"

"No, Madam President."

Lieutenant (Junior Grade) and Senior Officer of the Watch Louis Hoshi pushes the door all the way open and braces to attention at the side of it, holding it for the woman who walks through after him.

Laura Roslin is moving slowly, with a tightness to the corners of her mouth that belies a certain degree of pain, but she's clearly determined for all of that.

As soon as she's inside, Hoshi closes the door, signals the nearest waitrat, and hurries to pull out a chair at a vacant table for Roslin.

Shortly afterward, the two of them are seated across from each other. Roslin has a cup of tea, and Hoshi a cup of coffee. Both appear to be watching the room.

(For some reason, Hoshi's a lot more tense than Roslin is.)

[Out of Milliways: Voodoo's been on the Wasteland road a long, long time.

Fortunately, the road just got a lot shorter.]

"-looking for more mole people!" a stealth-suited Ellen calls over her shoulder into the shadows of some Wasteland ruin-raddled street; she turns back to the Bar and sighs with relief. "Okay, it worked. Come on, Voodoo. You can try the door if you want while I go find people or put up a sign or something."

Depending on how long they're here, she'll probably buy him a beer or four, since nobody deserves to get SURPRISE WASTELAND, FOR YOU, TO THE FACE, but she'll worry about that later.

[OOC: Ellen and Voodoo have just arrived from post-atomic Philadelphia. Two muns, two pups- tag either or both, but Voodoo's mun will have to beg insta-slowtime due to RL.]

Katrina Crane is by the fireplace, sipping mulled cider and eating muscadines while trying to make sense of a small laptop computer.

At the moment, she is fascinated by the many tarot decks that seem to exist in the future.
