He knows before he steps through that this door, though it looks just like the door to his room and stands where the door to his room usually stands, is not an ordinary door. He can feel the magic and strangeness pulsing off of it even before he touches it, and he can feel it rush past him as he steps through.

Those observing his entrance (or indeed his person at any time, for he does not undergo any change, as all the magic made him wonder if perhaps he would) will see a black-haired, black-eyed gentleman in simple, slightly shabby dress of the early 19th century.

And that is how John Segundus finds himself in Milliways for the first time. He makes his way at once over to the bar-- not because he is a gentleman much given to spirits, but because he looks like he very well might faint.

There's a rustle in the forest before a black calf dashes out from the forest and keeps going.

Anyone who's outside should be careful as about thirty seconds after, William on his horse with his lariat in his mouth gallops out to catch the calf.

He slows his horse to a canter as he realizes this is Milliways, curses and looks for the calf hoping it hasn't destroyed anything or gotten its head stuck somewhere.

Later, once he's caught the calf and put it into the paddock, he's going to go inside for coffee and something to eat.

(OOC: Catch him outside, have the calf cause trouble or find William inside.)

One moment, he was chasing a right bastard all the way down Cockbill street, towards the docks.

But the rules of narrative causality state that any such chase should be interrupted by the occasional rolling barrel or chicken. In this case, as the accused jumped off the docks into a boat, there just so happened to be two men holding a large plane of glass on their way up.

The door opens to a shower of broken glass and a young lad in Watchman's armour going at high speed. He completely misjudges his landing, being a great deal sooner than he anticipated, lands on his breastplate and skids right across the floor until he collides with the bar, helmet first.

Lance-Corporal Fiddyment scrambles to his feet, draws his sword, and looks around at the large number of people he seems to have landed in, trying to work out whether they are friend or foe.
