Gordon got a look at the Bar calendar today. Halloween's coming. That means the Bar's likely to be coming up with some kind of weird costume ideas for him and Alyx all over again. Last year's was more than a little unnerving, to say the least; the way he sees it, maybe if he picks one ahead of time he'll at least get something he can handle, rather than an over-muscled martial artist who can make volleyballs disappear in a shower of plastic bits with one well-placed kick. Unfortunately he's not having a lot of luck thinking of costumes on his own, so-
"Bar, I seem to recall some interesting get-ups in the options I've been offered at Cubefall the past two years. Can I get some information on those sets of attire, please?"
Which is a roundabout way of explaining why Gordon has been given a copy of the strategy guide for Halo: Combat Evolved and a full-sized MJOLLNIR helmet. Just in case he wants to try it on.
He's not sure he trusts it to come off if he does.
