(Somewhere Under Milliways: Sunshine's large, lovingly-collected library of gothic vampire lit will likely never be the same refuge of fantasy escapism ever again. She may burn them all when she gets home. If she survives to get home.)

From the kitchens come the sounds of startled, squeaking rats, of a large basket of paradoxes overturning as someone runs unsteadily towards the reassuring light and noise of the bar. The door to the kitchen slams open a moment later, letting through a pale and shaking Rae, clutching her wrenched and bruised right arm to her chest as she runs.

Her head is still reeling, her eyes watering and blurring her vision, the realization of what had just happened - what she had done - and to whom - causing her stomach to rebel violently.

Luckily, the cleaning crew prefer a clean bar and have put trash cans up at strategic locations, for Sunshine doesn't make it to the restroom before being physically ill. She falls jerkily next to it, clutching the trashcan rim with a white-knuckled grip in an effort to steady herself and counteract the tremors she can't seem to stop.

Rae, Sunshine; the pun in the nickname seems obvious.

"I'm Dr. Tam. Simon Tam." Half a beat. "Let me see to that sling."

"All right," she says, carefully moving her arm to help maneuver it into the sling. "About five days, you said? Alternating heat and ice."

"Five days," he confirms. "And if the pain gets significantly worse during that time, please come back and see me. Or any of the other doctors here."

"I will. One of my friends here is a doctor, though I don't know if she works in the infirmary."

He looks up, curious. "Oh? What's her name?"

"Remy, though she goes by Thirteen."

Simon shakes his head. "I don't think she does, no."

"I didn't know whether she did or not. I've only ever seen Dr. Cullen here, before today."

And those meetings are never awkward, no. Rae doesn't think she would be up to having a vampire treat her this time.

Simon nods; he's acquainted with Dr. Cullen.

"All right," he says, making a final adjustment to the sling, "I think you should be fine from here."

"Thank you, Dr. Tam," she says, smiling slightly. The sling isn't too tight or too loose, and does help her keep her shoulder from moving too much.

He returns the smile, and nods as he steps back. "I'm glad I could help. Again, please let me know if you need anything more."

Buffy looks up from the hand sanitizer she's been studying, and smiles.

Sunshine moves her shoulder just a little bit, to see how the sling feels.

"Will do," she says, sliding off her perch. She only wobbles a little, getting used to her altered balance again.
