The front door opens, and a conversation drifts inside.

"Some more tuna?"

"No, no thank you."

"How about salmon? I've got plenty of that."

"Mmm, no, that is alright."

"I think Manning might have some caviar somewhere. I can turn his office upside down if you'd like some of that."

"No thank you, amigo, I am completely stuffed."

"Oh. Okay."

"But... I could use a drink."

"Yeah? Well, let's go then."

Enter two patrons; one, a big tall red guy (sans-trenchcoat for once), and sitting on his shoulder, an orange cat in boots, hat and cape.

The pair head straight for the bar. Red takes a seat at the counter, and Puss gives a cheerful greeting to Bar, happy that she made it through the chaos okay.

"Beer."

"Leche, por favor."

[ooc: Well, I reckon it had to happen. Two pups, one mun, tag one or both.]

"A lot better than it was!" Well, that's obviously true no matter what.

He eyes Puss curiously. "That's not one of your usual cats," he says with certainty.

Actually, the cat and its gear look faintly familiar. Didn't he catch it flirting with AndrAIa once?

Oh, there's been so many women, Puss can hardly be expected to keep track.

(But yes, yes he did.)

"Oh, this is Puss in Boots, Enzo. Puss, meet Enzo."

Puss gives a tip of his hat, recognizing the youth after a moment.

"Yes, the kitten sitter. It is good to see you again."

"You too. It's been a while."

The better part of four years, a foot and a half of growth, and a voice change 'a while'. Fortunately, both of them are quite memorable.

Puss smiles, and salutes Enzo with his glass.

Patting a nearby stool, Red nods at Enzo.

"Have a seat, kid. What's been going on with you?"

Enzo has said seat.

"Helping clean up around here. Trying to get back into the swing of classes after... all this."

"Aww, c'mon, kid, it's not your first apocalypse."

He claps Enzo on the back, then asks Bar to serve Enzo a drink of his choice.

"It is not?" Puss asks, curious.

"Nah," Red shakes his head, "you should've seen the time with the nutty virus lady. That was pretty crazy."

"Yeah, but it was tough getting back to normal after that, too," he points out. "Though that was my world that almost ended," he tells the cat, "so everyone was in the same boat."

"Wow," Puss says, impressed that these two saved the world.

"Don't worry about it, you'll find your stride again," Red encourages.

"Yes, adventure can be taxing, but you seem to be doing quite well," Puss says, giving a cheering smile.

"Well, it's my function, I'd better." He grins. "Also, Dani showed up. So that helps."

"Who's Dani?" Puss asks.

Red answers by smiling and giving a wink.

"Oooohhh," Puss nods, then grins.

"How's she doing?" Red asks, smirk on.

"She's fine. Sort of an only child these days, since Danny... Daniel and Jazz are both off at college. Her parents are used to at least two kids, so that's kind of a mixed blessing."

"House to herself, nice."

Red doesn't see a problem with this. But then, he likes being the center of attention, and was an only child so...

"How long does she got before she's out of the nest, too?"

"Year and a half."

"Same for you?"

"Close. A few months more, if our calendars run how they usually do."

"And then what? Get a house, kids... " Red teases.

"Wedding bells and a church," Puss picks up.

Enzo rolls his eyes and, although he was expecting this from Red, he still flushes a little. (Which is a kind of answer in itself; he wouldn't embarrass so easily if it weren't close to home.)

"She'll still have college," he points out. "And I'll only be one-one. Sixteen," he adds by way of translation.

"Ah, schooling is very important," Puss says, nodding in approval.

"Yeah, you've got plenty of time before you hitch up the ol' ball and chain," Red agrees. "So I guess now's the time to live it up."

"Ah, sì, yes now is the time for questing!" Standing up, Puss draws his sword and gestures with it in excitement. "Adventure, danger, go out and see the world before returning to your lady love!"

Gads, that is adorable.

"You kidding? She'll be mad if I do all that adventuring without her."

Red nods up at Puss, and gestures at Enzo.

"His babe does the hero thing, too."

"Oh, really?" Puss is happy to hear this. "Then señor, you have yourself a winner. You take her, an' you never let her go!"

"That's the plan."

"Good." Puss nods. "Then we drink to the señoritas."

Puss lifts his glass and Red follows suit.

"The señoritas."

Enzo grins and raises his shake. "The señoritas."
