Jack comes into Milliways tonight looking rather more relaxed than he did last time.

He also looks considerably less injured. All the surface wounds have mostly been dealt with, though he's still limping slightly.

He steps through and smiles. The first thing he does, is head to the bar and order a lemonade.

Once he's got that, he turns round to survey the bar and see who's here.

A sniffing sound comes from behind him, over his shoulder, and a head leans forward, partially shrouded by the hair that falls in front of it. "What is that?" a light voice asks. "It smells... sweet? And tart?" How mysterious!

"It's lemonade," says Jack, turning round to face the owner of the voice.

Enzo is about, with a couple new gold sparklies on his right ear.

"Hey, Enzo. How ya doing?"

"Hey, Jack! Haven't seen you in a while! You missed my birthday," he adds in mock reproach.

He has, in fact, grown since Jack last saw him. Only about half an inch, though.

"Well, a belated Happy birthday to you! And yeah, the door's been doing silly things for me. I didn't see a door for, like, 6 months."

"Jeez. It hasn't been that long here."

The owner is a petite young woman wearing a curiously interested expression. Oh, and she has a pair of mobile ears, twitching energetically as she sniffs again in curiosity.

"Lemonade?" Sounds interesting! Maybe she should get some.

"I got that feeling."

"Get anything good for your birthday?"

Interesting, those ears. Mind, so what? She's here, she must therefore know the rules, so no worries.

"Crushed Lemon juice, a bit of sugar, and sparkling water. That's the basic ingredients, anyway."

"Uh-huh! Some superhero movies and spy novels and a bunch of snack coupons and these." He displays his new gold ear stud and cuff.

"Nice. They look good on you. And those movies sound like fun."

Jack reads. But he tends to read non-fiction/historical books, rather than novels.

"Yeah, Dani and I get each other a lot of that kind of thing."

Jack grins.

"Sorry, if I've asked this before, but, who's Dani?" (The mun can't remember, or be bothered to check).

Jack thinks he can guess, but better to check.

"My girlfriend, Danielle."

Jack nods. He'd expected that to be the response.

"You watch them together?"

"Of course! It's fun complaining about the stuff they get wrong."

"Heh. How much do they usually get wrong?"

Probably about as much as they do when Hollywood represents the military (which is to say, lots).

"Plenty. Though," he admits, "not everything."

"Sounds like some of the movies I know." Seriously, you just can't do things the way they make it look on the screen.

"I guess Hollywood abstraction is pretty universal."

"Yeah. At least these aren't 'based on a true story'."

Jack was taking a drink when Enzo said that, and he snorted in amusement. Which left half his drink going down the wrong tube.

He hacks it back up, and manages not to spill any on the bar top, but, even so, it doesn't look the greatest.

Enzo assists with a couple of solid thumps on the back. "You okay?"

When Jack clears the blockage, he takes a couple of deep breaths, before replying, "Yeah, I'm good."

"You just reminded me of a movie where, apparently, they tamed down what the guy it was based on had done, because it seemed so 'unrealistic'."

"Why, what'd he do?"
