Amy has hot chocolate, pizza, and a pile of correspondence she brought along in the hopes of getting somewhat caught up after being away from home for nearly a month.

At least, that was the plan.

Now that she's here, though, it's hard to find any enthusiasm at all for the papers on her table, so she's largely ignoring them while she looks around the bar.

After all, there's always something interesting going on at the end of the universe.

And anyway, they'll keep.

"You're simply unmistakable, my dear," Amy says, laughing as well.

"And it is just lovely to see you.

"How are you? How's school?"

"I'm good and it's good."

She sits down in the chair beside Amy.

"Only time goes by so fast."

[kitchen_maid]

"It really does," Amy agrees.

"I've met your nephew. He's lovely. Aunt Ingress."

She grins wider.

"I like him. He's very cute."

[kitchen_maid]

"Exceptionally so," Amy agrees.

"Are you already planning all the things you can teach him and show him and get him into?"

"I'm supposed to be a responsible auntie," she giggles.

[kitchen_maid]

"Those are aunt responsibilities," Amy says, grandly.

"You're going to be an amazing aunt, Ingress.

"Portico is very lucky to have you."

"How are all of your babies? I should come visit soon."

[kitchen_maid]

"You should come visit soon. We'd be delighted to have you.

"And they're well, though Susan and Merry aren't really babies any more, and even the twins are starting to toddle around.

"It's like you said, time goes by so fast."

"I'd love to come. And to see the dragon. Is he still there?"

[kitchen_maid]

"Norman? Yes.

"He's the Royal Dragon of Ambergeldar, and very fond of Susan.

"She feeds him apple pastries."

[herald_to_be]

She laughs.

"I bet he like those. But they'd be such little tiny bites."

[kitchen_maid]

"She throws them to him. X taught her, so her aim has much improved.

"But, yes, I do think they're rather tiny bites for him."

[herald_to_be]

"When she gets older, they can become pies. That will be better for building her arm muscles, anyway."

[kitchen_maid]

Amy laughs.

"The kitchens might revolt, though.

"If they had to make that many apple pies."

[herald_to_be]

"But it would be for the Royal Dragon of Ambergeldar."

[kitchen_maid]

"Assistant chefs are incredibly hard to impress, though."

[herald_to_be]

"They are, aren't they? We all take turns in the kitchen for chores."

[kitchen_maid]

"And what sorts of things do you have to do?

"I hated stoning cherries. It was just so . . . sticky."

[herald_to_be]

"Chopping stuff. I hate chopping onions."

She makes a face.

[kitchen_maid]

Amy nods.

"They make you cry, and you can't rub your eyes, and then your hands smell like onions for ages.

"They do make things taste better, though.

"Well, some things.

"I wouldn't want them in cakes, I don't think."

"Ugh, no," Ingress says, making a face.

"I don't mind washing dishes, though. As long as someone else dries them and puts them away."

[kitchen_maid]

"I was always so afraid I was going to break things, when I was washing dishes. They are rather slippery.

"So tell me about a part of school that does not involve kitchen chores. What are enjoying the most?"

"I like sword fighting, of course, and other classes like that. And Megwyn and I have to practice with older Heralds and Companions, and that's exciting for both of us. And hard, sometimes, but mostly exciting. And I like history. It's all new."
