Amy has hot chocolate, pizza, and a pile of correspondence she brought along in the hopes of getting somewhat caught up after being away from home for nearly a month.

At least, that was the plan.

Now that she's here, though, it's hard to find any enthusiasm at all for the papers on her table, so she's largely ignoring them while she looks around the bar.

After all, there's always something interesting going on at the end of the universe.

And anyway, they'll keep.

"Yes, they have always been aware of how much rests upon them and always try their best. I do my own part to help when I can usually by simply reminding them of what they have accomplished."

"Which is very useful.

"It can be hard to see how much you've done, when you're looking at all there is still to do."

[friend_of_lucy]

"Yes, and I do try to remind them when they feel unsure by showing what they have done fits into Narnian history."

[kitchen_maid]

Amy thinks about that for a moment.

"How do you mean?"

[friend_of_lucy]

"That other rulers have been confused by the elves and figured something out. None of our kings and queens have known what to do the first time and learning what's best for Narnia is part of being royalty, also that things that might seem like they don't make a difference truly do."

[kitchen_maid]

Amy tilts her head, curiously, to one side.

"Don't your kings learn to rule from their parents?"

Because that's one of Amy's and Perry's chief duties -- making sure Merry will be ready to ascend the throne of Ambergeldar when the time comes.

[friend_of_lucy]

"No, they came from the land of Spare Oom to rule Narnia after they defeated the White Witch."

[kitchen_maid]

"No, I knew that about the Pevensies," Amy says.

She knew the Pevensies, once upon a time.

"But the other rulers you spoke of . . . is that true of them as well?"

[friend_of_lucy]

"Oh yes, most of the rulers have Narnia came through their families and the few histories that remain, I share."

[kitchen_maid]

"Oh, I see."

[friend_of_lucy]

"Yes, I find that it does help but some of the history has been lost due to the White Witch."
