Helena and Claudia have claimed a table in the Bar and have been decorating it for the past half-hour or so. There's a tablecloth, requisite gaudy paper places and plastic cutlery, a couple wrapped presents, and as a centrepiece a cake.
Helena stands back and smiles at their handiwork, but it all is finished just as Joshua walks through the door with a crumpled paper in his hand. "Really, you two?"
Helena grins at him, while his sister laughs. "Well, it is your birthday, darling. Many happy returns of the day, and all of that."
"Yeah, I know." Joshua shakes his head. "I was trying to not think about it."
"Come on over, darling. We have cake. And eventually dinner."
"I see that it's not a lie." Joshua does go over and sit down at the table while the girls high-five.
