Ambriel is outside, examining an uprooted tree. It seems there was a very large disturbance here.

But no metaphysical damage to the structure of Milliways. Nothing to worry about, then. Just something to keep an eye out for.

The angel perches at the top of the upturned roots and looks out over the lake.

Michael drops down next to her, jade-green wings stirring up air currents as she lands.

She says nothing.

Yet.

Ambriel's feet kick against the roots idly, shaking out small puffs of dust.

"Captain. How do you fare?"

"I'm here," Michael allows.

"And you, Ambriel?"

"I am here as well."

Ambriel looks up at her.

"I met Sam Winchester."

It went great.

Charlie jogs by, taking in a fairly nice day. And notices someone perched on the uprooted tree. Which is an odd place to sit.

"Hello."

Ambriel looks down. "Hello. Did you see who or what knocked this tree down?"

You know what they say about curiosity, but angels are sturdier than most cats.

Michael does not smile.

"I'm aware."

Sorry, Ambriel.

"I hear about it after the fact. A god and a monster had a fight out here a couple of weeks ago. And from what I heard, it could have been worse." The funny thing is that after jogging out here a few times, Charlie is used to the damage and barely notices most of it.

Ambriel grimaces. "Michael, I apologize. I know I made an error in my interactions."

Quiet for a moment, and then.

"-I do not see what you see in him!" The angel makes a helpless gesture.

"I hope no one was injured?"

Besides the tree.

"Security cleared the area, and I think that the only damage was to the grounds. Still, the way Sallie talked, things really could have gotten out of hand." He's well aware of what happens when such beings fight. He saw the footage from Superman's battle to the death with Doomsday, after all.

"Sallie? I am not familiar with her."

Ambriel will have to talk to X later. She always knows about security threats.

"Sallie Reynolds...one of the barmen here. If something happens, she knows about it." Magically, from what Charlie knows.

"It isn't as if he were overfond of angels already," Michael observes, voice just this side of dry. "Our brethren on his world seem to be among the more rigid of our kind. As for what I see -- "

She flicks her fingers in a quick, dismissive gesture.

"I should say something about all God's children being worth saving, or claim for him some great nobility of heart, or good intentions, or a willingness to sacrifice himself for the greater good, demon blood or no. All of those are true, of course, but -- "

Michael does not laugh.

"In truth he reminds me very much of my brother."

Lucifer, that is.

Ambriel gives Michael an extremely dubious look.

Really, Captain?

"I see. I have met Mike, but not Sallie."

Ambriel smiles. "Forgive me, I have not asked your name. Who are you?"

"People call me Charlie. I've been around for a few years now. And you?" He walks closer to the fallen tree.

"He came home, my brother. Though the journey was very long."

Michael's smile is wry, even as her look is direct and bright-burning.

"I don't think Sam Winchester has that kind of time."

"No, he doesn't. When did you last speak with him?"

His aura was far stronger than Ava's, even after she had summoned a demon.

Will is stretched out by the lake and nods to Ambriel when he notices her gaze.

"My name is Ambriel. I am pleased to meet you, Charlie."

Ambriel carefully does not comment on his dead-or-alive status. It can be a sensitive subject.

"How do you like Milliways?"

Michael raises one eyebrow.

"At least as recently as you."

"Then you know why I am concerned." There isn't much point in worrying about it. Michael can sense demonic power as easily as Ambriel can. Better.

And she has for more experience with humans.

But still.

"Hello," Ambriel says after Will nods.

It seems rude not to at least greet someone when they acknowledge you.

If they turn out to be like Clare and prefer comfortable silence, that is fine too.

"I have no doubt," Michael says, emphasizing the 'no'.

"Though he has, at last, asked for aid."

It counts for a lot.
