"Okay," says Ellen. "Well, they have some kind of alchemy that allows them to make things that have the properties of other things. I really don't know how it works. All I know is that I traded some things to them a while back, and they used their alchemy to make a pair of goggles for me that can perceive smells as visual information. If I put them on, I can track people or animals or other things by their scent trails just by looking at where they've been. That's why I had my helmet off."
