X slips through the back door, hair damp from her swim.
There's something to be said for sparring with mermaids.
Not least that it's an excellent unorthodox training method.
But it does make X hungry, which is why she orders a sandwich and a bowl of soup, then settles herself at a corner table.
One with excellent sight-lines, in point of fact.
It is better to be prepared.
