A relatively newly-minted boy Noriko is definitely testing out this theory that guys are more athletic, trying to beat her previous time around the lake a given number of times. It ends in a dead heat as far as she remembers her numbers, heart pounding and sweaty. But it's good exercise, and she comes back inside for food, after the mandatory shower--sweat not being the most effective cologne ever for talking to people.

Catchable at a table with food (ramen, gyoza, sushi roll, takoyaki) and headphones in, relaxing to the pounding, thrumming bass.

Jay's been working out too. Noriko might have seen him whaling on a pair of sparring bots just off the lake.

He comes in, just as sweaty and pauses at the bar to grab a sports drink. He eyes the room, something wary in his expression.

He spots the unfamiliar face and takes a moment to study boy!Noriko.

"What?" she asks, having caught on to the staring with an octopus ball halfway to her--his--mouth, chopsticks hanging in midair.

"You've never seen blue hair before?"

Jay shrugs, not dropping his eyes. "Not quite that shade. Looks good on you." It would be a flirt, if he wasn't so tired.

She doesn't lower hers either, though she's taking him in and finds herself viewing Jay from a slightly different angle, highlighting different features.

"So I'm told. It's different having it short, it feels funny."

Jay cocks his head, looking her over more intently. "New look for you then?" He hasn't quite made the connection yet.

"Well, the boy part, yeah," she says. "The blue, not so much." Her--his, technically, though she still thinks of herself as female--hair is still shorn in the back from the middle of her ears down, cut into a lightning bolt EKG line, with a purple-dyed heart on one side.

"Normally I'm considerably more built up top."

"Ah." Recognition sounds in his voice, able to place her now. "So, what prompted the gender swap, if you don't mind me asking."

"The hell of it," she answers honestly. "I ran into a guy here who calls himself a wizard, and he seemed pretty level. I didn't ask for it, but he demonstrated and it seemed like it might be interesting. And while I'm here, why the hell not. Learn how the other half lives."

It'll wear off in like, two weeks. She figures it'll be fine.

Sounds weird but it's Milliways. And he's done the gender swap thing himself. "How are you enjoying it so far?"

"Jacking off is weird," she says. "Honestly."

Jay coughs a laugh, nearly snorting his drink. Well done, Noriko. That's the best laugh he's had since- well, for a while.

"Yeah, you know, you're probably right there."

"Yeah, I still haven't really figured it out?" she says, making it into a question and smiling despite it, because it was meant to be funny. "I mean, mechanically, sure. But there's a whole lot more equipment there than I'm used to."

"Yeah, but in my experience, it's easier to steer." He shrugs offhandedly. "I'd offer to give you a lesson but-"

He's not exactly in the best head-space for flirting.

"I'm sure it'll get easier," she says, shaking her head. "You don't have to." She hadn't really foreseen the problem with being a girl who liked boys, transformed into a boy who...still liked boys. It presented some dilemmas.

"You know what they say; practice makes perfect." He jokes dryly.

No dilemmas for Jay, he's comfortable with who he is and what he's into. Its just a pity he's so far off kilter right now, otherwise he'd be very keen to help her out with that dilemma.

"I thought that sort of thing made you go blind," she replies.

Jay shrugs. "My theory is you gotta know what turns you on. If you don't know that, how is anyone else going to do it for you?"

"Oh, I know what turns me on, and fortunately almost none of it depends on being a girl." She shrugs. In her experience you learn to like what you can get.

Jay raises an eyebrow. "May I ask?" It's always interesting to know what what gets a person off. "If it's not too personal."

She shrugs. "I like guys who're good with their fingers, and I like having my legs and my ass paid attention to. It's not so very personal, really. What about you, since we're asking?"

Jay shrugs. It is personal and he appreciates that she felt comfortable telling him.

"Depends on the person - their gender, their strength. I like taking my time, making sure they come before I do. Finding what they enjoy. I like to be tactile - massage, touching." He shrugs again. The touchy feely cuddling thing doesn't match his tough guy looks but...

"I'm not...totally sold on the idea that your partner has to come before you do. I love having people pay attention, but climax isn't the be-all end-all of sex." She shrugs. "It's nicer to just fool around with people, let things go where they will. For me, anyway."

Jay shrugs. "It's not deal breaker. Or something that has to happen. I just enjoy bringing people to the peak with a clear enough head to focus in them completely. Nothing wrong with fooling around and letting things happen."

"Sometimes it makes you feel like a playtoy when people do that," Noriko says, not unkindly. "Or it does me, normally."

"Fair enough." Jay shrugs, not about to argue with someone else's kinks. Especially when he knows his own come from some deep seated issues.
