"This is...different." Jim wonders if the powers that be behind the Bar have finally malfunctioned. It reminds him vaguely of the sort of spacer bar that might or might not have existed a century before his time.
He looks down. His uniform is more or less the same, but the insignia is changed. And he has a sidearm. An incredibly bulky, almost inelegant looking laser gun of the sort they made in the early 22nd century, when armaments companies thought that laser guns should be bulky.
He walks up to the bar, and orders a coffee. What he gets tastes almost but not entirely unlike coffee.
