"I'm impressed," Baze says, constructing another ham-and-swiss-and-Ritz-cracker sandwich. "Back on Jedha, kids were either educated at one of the temples, or sent off-planet to one of the Core worlds if their parents had enough money--which few people did. Possibly some water barons. There was no formal schooling system."

Baze melts into a smile at Barry's grin. "Yes, the library was quite a shock when we first saw it. Paper is the purview of the very rich, so it was like walking into a treasure trove. I love the way books feel in my hands. They're so solid. And they smell amazing, too."
