"You have GOT to be kidding me."

Standing in the open doorway, Cisco stares at the bar shaking his head.

With a sigh he tosses his toolbelt onto a bench beside the doorway and steps through into Milliways, letting the door close behind him.

His annoyance at what he had to go through to get here evaporates quickly, and when he takes a seat at the counter he’s all smiles.

"Hi, Bar. Remember me?"

That is absolutely not a squeal of delight when Bar produces a napkin with a cheerful greeting and a mug of Butterbeer to go along with it, anyone who hears one is clearly just imagining things.

Taking a drink, he turns on his stool to observe the bar at large, wondering just what exactly he can get into this time.

"He literally just opened the door and let me follow him in," Cisco says with a shrug. "But I'm new to the place so maybe there was more to it than that."

Finishing his butterbeer, Cisco throws a smile. "Barry Allen? He's been coming here for awhile, I guess."

"I'm ... sort of the dude in the chair, yeah, if I follow you? Not so much direct combat if there's a choice." He grins. "In practice it's more like ... dude following up the leads, dude driving the van, dude picking up the takeout."

He takes a drink of his mocha. "How about you, what do you do?"

"Dude, that's me!" Cisco says over-enthusiastically, patting his chest. "I'm a mechanical engineer, so I also make the toys. I mostly stay on the sidelines, but I did just recently stand up to one big bad and sent him packing."

Andrew brightens. "You're a mechanical engineer? Respect, man."

People who build stuff are the coolest.

"Why thank you, respect," Cisco says, holding up his fist for a bump.

He gets a bump back, and another grin.

"So what kind of team do you work for? Uh, for-slash-with?"

Cisco grins, and then his eyes widen. "Oh, uh, just a like, scientific research team, kind of thing... "

He pauses, then shakes his head, leaning in and lowering his voice.

"Okay, we don't hunt vampires, but we definitely take on evil super-villains."

He wonders if the Dr. McGee he knows of changed labs, or if Cisco is just from a different reality.

"I don't think I know of a Dr. Wells."

"Ah, cool," he says. "I don't think I've met him yet. I'm fairly new myself so I'm still getting the lay of the land a bit. Don't think I've run across him so far."

"He's a cool guy," he replies with a smile.

"From what I've heard, there's a lot to see and get used to with this place."

"For real?" Cisco asks, surprised, and possibly a touch insulted. "Dr. Harrison Wells? Man is like a mad genius, I mean, he founded S.T.A.R. Labs."

Much becomes clear.

"In your reality, but not mine. I seem to recall a Garrison Slate doing so in my reality, some years back.

"Has someone explains that aspect of the Bar to you?"

"Always cool," says Andrew approvingly.

"Wait, aren't all supervillains evil? ... Oh, I guess you could have a chaotic neutral supervillain."

"Huh, that's weird," Cisco says with a slight frown.

He thinks about it a moment, then nods. "Yeah, sort of. Like, I get there are people here from different versions of my world. I guess you're one of them."

"Point," Cisco concedes. "Just about every supervillain is evil, but not every evil is a supervillain. Haven't come across the chaotic neutral, yet, though. Probably give it a couple of weeks."

"There is, from what I know, an infinity of realities, each just a bit different than the next." He can't explain it, though. Physics and cosmology are not his forte, after all.

"Mirror, mirror," Cisco breathes, then louder, "So then I could potentially run into my self here, sporting a goatee and fancy duds."

"I suppose it's possible. But I don't know if that has ever happened." When he has run into alternate versions of people, the versions he knew were never there. "I wouldn't worry about it."

"Oh, I'm no worried, I think it'd be awesome," Cisco says, grinning.

He hesitates a moment later, then allows, "Unless of course other me is actually evil. That would kind of suck."

"Meeting another self is not that impressive. And an other self can be difficult without being evil." He can't say for sure, but he thinks that his other self, the previous version of the Swamp Thing, is making a mess of things for him.

"What? Of course it would be impressive. I don't know about where you're from, but doppelgangers aren't really a thing in my world unless we're talking Elvis impersonators."

Maybe it's not a big deal here when the universe is ending right outside of the window, but Cisco would still be stoked about it.

"Besides that, I'm awesome. Ergo, double me would be doubly-awesome."

"I won't try to explain how I know my doppelganger...call it insider knowledge. But it's fair to say that even if you are, er, awesome, you might not like yourself as much as you expected to." Clearly, Cisco has a very healthy ego. Maybe too much soon.

"Maybe," he says, not really convinced he won't, but there's no point arguing about it.

"That often?" His eyes widen a little. "Where do you guys work?"

"Thaaat, I can't say," he says, then adds, "Or I'd have to kill you."

Which is completely untrue, but c'mon, Cisco has practically lived his whole life for an opportunity to say that!
