Thorn is in the bar today, dressed all in green and ready to go outside. She stops at the Bar first, to grab a cup of hot chocolate and people watch for a few minutes.

She sits on a stool, swinging her legs, hoping someone interesting will show up. But if not, then she just go out back and make her own fun.

Alec, as ever reading a book, notices the woman. She seems familiar. But no, his first glance is not correct, and she is not Poison Ivy.

Definitely not, though the two of them might get along.

"Hey, you're that tree guy, right?"

The face is ever more familiar. As is the voice. But something is off. It can't be her, can it?

"Swamp Thing. You know about me?"

"Well, yeah." As if everyone knows about him.

"A fan of the Inquisitor? Or of one of the news sites that covers the Justice League?" He thinks that maybe, because of his brief service with Constantine's team, his existence is taken more seriously by slightly less disreputable outlets. (He really needs to find a way to get a phone and follow such things.)

"The Daily Planet."Just like a good little Metropolite.

"I'm moving up in the world." Though that incident with Scarecrow and Superman was pretty close to a disaster, so it would have been in the news. "Did Lois Lane cover the story?"

She has no clue, as he's making this entire thing up.

"Of course. Who else gets to write those stories?"

"Honestly? I can't remember anyone else from the Planet." It's not like he lives in Metropolis.

"I didn't catch your name."

"Thorn." This she has no reason to lie about.

The pieces are trying to add up. It's not like Alec isn't very smart.

But he also doesn't really play that whole secret identity game, either.

"That's an unusual name."

She shrugs. "It is what it is."

"Well, it's always nice to meet a new face." Or new-ish. "But don't call me Swamp Thing. It's Alec. Or Dr. Holland if you insist on being formal."

"The last thing I am is formal. Alec."

Then she adds, "Why don't you like Swamp Thing?"

"It's not my name. It's something that some newspaper in the 1920s called a predecessor. It's not the worst thing, and sometimes it does suit me. But I am not shy about using my name." It isn't like he could have secret identity.

She nods. "I guess I wouldn't like being called something that wasn't my name, either."

He keeps wondering. But that doesn't really make sense. Maybe she's related to Rose? Because there is something her very un-Rose-like.

"Unfortunately, going to the Daily Planet and asking for a correction would probably not work that well."

"Why?Aren't they supposed to be understanding?"

"They would either freak out because there was a monster in the room, or pester me for an interview. I don't think I am ready for interviews." He doesn't know if he ever will be.

"An interview would be awesome." At least she thinks so. "'Don't call me Swamp Thing' makes a great headline."

He laughs at that.

"Maybe someday. But I don't think the world is ready."

"There's a lot of things the world isn't ready for. It gets them anyway."

He has to nod.

"Especially in a place like Metropolis."
