"Hi," he greets, small hint of a grin. Always nice to see new faces. "New here?"

She nods and grins. "I'm on my third day."

"Well, at least that should mean I don't have to go through the introductory speech, right?"

Why the hell is he in a good mood?

"Oh yes. It's all terribly exciting," says the Time Lord from Gallifrey.

"Rather not." He sips his coffee.

"Interesting things happen from time to time."

Sara's refusing to self-medicate herself, no matter how appealing the prospect.

She nods politely to Connor, deciding that depression is not a valid excuse for rudeness on her part. "Good morning."

The mun is also at work, but her supervisors are out.

He quells the sudden urge to reply 'Lots of different places' and opts for: "New York."

And no, really, you'd never be able to tell from the accent, he doesn't sound like he's from anywhere in particular at all.

"I'm a Time Lord from Gallifrey."

He's thinking - used-to-be-turtle guy.

Faith's in the bar too. Sneaking up on him. Sneaky, sneaky Faith.

In fact, she's right behind him, and oh look, she's kissing his neck. That's nice, isn't it?

"Mmm. Hello. But, don't you think you should wait 'til I'm alone? Faith's probably in the rafters watching." He grins.

"Bad night?" he asks, sensing a bit of the depression. Which mostly means, he smiles, but not so much.

"She has." Faith kisses his cheek, then moves around to stand next to him and kiss his mouth. "And how are we today?"

"Yeah.." she smiles without humor. "I should be used to..never mind, s'not important."

"Wanna talk about it? Or you wanna just drink coffee with me 'til Faith gets here?"

"Kiss me again and I'll let you know." He grins and lifts the coffee cup - see if she's paying attention.

Faith takes the coffee cup away from him, puts it down, takes his face in both hands and kisses him, long and slow and not-needing-to-breathe-that-often-say-thankya.

"Mmm..well, I'm a criminalist. An old case came back to me last night in a way--a woman, shot twice in the head, raped, left as a vegetable, died last night. Her husband called."

She sighs. "I never understand people." At the mention of Faith, her head tilts. "You must be Connor, then."

He raises an eyebrow. "That's either an amazing guess or you've talked to Faith."

He kisses back, a hand on her hip.

"Day just got a lot better."

Sara nods. "She was one of the first people who greeted me when I first came here. We've gotten to be friends, I think. I'm Sara."
