Gil hugs him back - no, clings might be a better description.
"Oh bum," he says. "Because I just did it to Loki the God. Knickers."
Sooty hasn't embarrassed him - he has done that all by himself. He buries his face in Sooty's hair for a moment then laughs.
"Good job it was him and not anyone else. I don't suppose he noticed."
