Actually, please don't. Especially if it involves a chainsaw. Just...stare at him, since he's pretty. Or, you know, talk to him. That would work too. Because he just came into the bar and he's sitting just at the end of it nursing a cup of tea.

"I never left Paris, before I came here."

"Lochiel and I had almost come to a point where we were both over the things that happened, and could talk again like normal people - but since he fell in with Eris, he snarks at me and treats me with contempt and infallibly manages to make me look like an idiot to whoever might be there, Apropos or Esk or whoever. Well, Eris is the goddess of discord, so of course there would have to be some of that between her new follower and his former god."

Asar-Suti is really hurt by this state of things. If you're truly over somebody, you're supposed to get along with them civilly, aren't you? And Lochiel simply won't.

He laughs.

"That...goes without saying."

He smiles at Richard.

"Have you met Youji, by any chance?"

"Not in a place?" Liam asks, curious and sympathetic.

"No, can't say that I have."

"You're welcome to see it like that."

And that's all he says about it.

"Apropos? Esk?"

He nods.

"Very sweet boy, a charmer...but very unfortunate past. Lots of problems, that one, and I'm working on him slowly."

He'll not tell Richard what went on in that room upstairs. That's between him and Youji. He also doesn't want to scare him. What he is...can be frightening at times, but Richard will probably never see that part.

"But if you see him, let him know you're one of mine. I think David might have oonfused him a bit, considering our relationship is a little...more than just that of God and Follower."

"I think of David as more your Consort than a Follower."

*nods*

"But yes, I'll look for Youji and tell him who I am."

"To a body. I was stuck as a child with most of my power taken away from me. It didn't help that everyone was also trying to kill me at the time but...things have...worked themselves out."

There's sadness at the end. They worked themselves out...but at a price.

He nods.

"What's Paris like?"

"Consort? He's getting a title now? Hm...I thought the title of 'David' was special enough."

A small, sly grin.

"But thank you about Youji. He really is a lovely man...just..problems."

"I have never been given another explanation, so all I can do is improvise my own," Asar-Suti simply says.

"Apropos is a fellow who works in the kitchen, one of Gil's helpers - fellow with very red hair and a lame leg and the snarkiest tongue ever, but it doesn't bother me, because Apropos isn't personal. He just snarks at everyone except GIl, whom he respects. And Esk is a friend of mine who does the library and the trilobites with me, a female wizard - on her world, wizards and witches are very different, and she's both, but mostly a wizard - the witch only comes out occasionally. We can talk for hours. I once tried introduce Lochiel and her when we all found ourselves by the fireplace, and the result was - extremely embarrassing."

*laughs*

"I suppose David is enough. Means Beloved anyway."

*nods*

"What does Youji look like?"

"Tall, lithe young man, shoulder length hair and green eyes. Probably carrying around a flower."

"Ah." Fun.

He grins.

"Both seem like people I might want to meet."

"Best city in the world", Gavroche says loyally.

"Right, tall man with a flower. Got it."

*grins*

"How many of us will you take?"

"What happened?" Gentle.

He smiles.

"As many as I can get, surely. As many as need me or want me."

I don't turn away. It's happened too often to me for me to do it to someone else. I'll take all love I'm offered.

"I wouldn't have thought you'd need to worry," Gil says. "Surely the only thing a God needs to fear is the displeasure of another God and, as you said, you have made your peace with Asar-Suti, and Lady Eris is on your side anyway. Nobody here need bother you - it's up to us to be careful that's all."

He gets up. "I'm glad we've spoken before the staff quarters are completed. You won't have heard but I invited you and David to a 'room-warming' when my new quarters are finished. It would have been awkward."

He smiles, a little tentatively, then, just to be friendly, tries out that greeting/parting Look he learned from that nice new gentleman, Mr Kinney who seemed very friendly indeed.

"I'd best get back to it," he says. "An ex-faun's work is never done."

"To me? Nothing that hasn't been well fixed. To..."

He looks to Liam.

"Do you have children?"

I can't blame you for that.

"There's probably a lot of us here who would need you."

Fun? Well, Apropos and Esk are, in their way; Lochiel and Eris most certainly aren't, not for Asar-Suti at this moment, at least.

So better just talk about the pelasant part, especially as Loki is growing increasingly more monosyllabic and cryptic about the other.

"Oh, I am sure you'd like them - especially Apropos. If there were international contests in cynicism, he'd win them all. Esk, though - hmmm. She#s not very impressed with gods. Especially not active ones - she likes me and can excuse that I am one. I'm not godding much these days, after all."

Asar-Suti looks at Lokie earnestly.

"But I do realise that I am a god and will not cowardly call myself a 'former Dark God' again - meaning that the Darkness is past, but giving the impression I've cast off all divinity. I'm a god of magic. I know this will sound very weird..."

He looks at Gil...and looks very human.

"No one needs more enemies. No one likes hate or fear. Even a god. And being what I am...doesn't make me immune to having to be decent. I do try."

And as for gods, I have enough enemies among them alone.

"Thank you for the invitation, though. I'm sure we'll be there."

He waves to Gil then, content to let him go.

"One child. Megan. She's two."
