Elaine comes into the bar, skirting the front door that she can now see, and sits down with a primer book of French.

"Il a un petit chien. Nous avons une soeur et deux frères. Vous avez le français le matin." She knows what the sentences mean. She is not sure how this is supposed to help her learn more French, however.

She flips a few more pages until she gets to something she doesn't know, and studies some more.
