Eddie shuffles out of his room under the stairs--still haven't taken the time to move into the staff quarters, have the Deans--carrying a couple steno notebooks. He sets them on the bar and almost asks (her) it to take them, then halts. Then he tears a page out of the back of one and scribbles a note.

"Can you give that to Roland, babe?" He tucks the notebooks back under his arm and slips out.
