The front door slams open, and a jackdaw flies in, bearing a note, which the bird leaves on the bar and is gone as quickly as he has come.

Hullo, Boss-lady, I hate to bother you when you’re not at work, but I’ve a bit of a situation on my hands with this particular family.
They. Won’t. Leave.
Not without their youngest, anyway. Both boys are there, husband and wife are united (after much arguing and fighting, might I add), but no youngest daughter. They’ve been hanging about for over one thousand years, and they’re beginning to snipe at one another. It’s mainly the mother who wants to see her youngest, since she never got to see her whilst she was alive.
I hate to even ask this, but the Underworld needs to be a place of peace, you know that.
Please talk to Elaine. I know she’s been seeing the door I put in front of her. She’s even opened it. I know she’s probably terrified, and her parents have to be the ones to decide if she can come back to the bar. I don't hold out much hope that they will allow her back, to be honest.
There are times when I really wish I weren’t in charge and this is one of them. Let me know what the girl says. I will be waiting for her.
