Sawyer sits out by the lake, barefoot and smoking. He's reading his letter again. He'd read it compulsively -- pretty much once a day, sometimes more -- when he was stranded on the island, but in the past couple of months he hasn't read it more than once or twice.

He's just in a brooding mood today, though.

Chase hasn't talked to Sawyer in a while. He hauls himself out of the lake and stops to say hi as he walks past. "Hey, man. What's up?"
