(no subject)

After Roland's conversation with Tim, he goes to the bar and rests a hand on the surface.

The darkened surface.

Quietly: "There was a man. Joe. He had a Colt Navy pistol. .45 caliber. I need one, and a box of shells."

No response.

"For sai Tonks."

For a moment Roland doesn't think anything's going to happen, and he sighs, irritated -- he'll have to ask Meg to take him to Paris, and he's loath to leave tonight.

But then the box appears, followed by a revolver, with ornate scrollwork on cylinder, hammer, and barrel.

Roland's eyes gleam.

He goes upstairs briefly to get his gun-oil, a few rags, and the small dish he uses for the oil -- and then he settles in at a table and begins to familiarize himself with his new weapon.

This one will be in a docker's clutch at his right. The Gilead Special stays, as always, on his left hip.

[Summary: Aziraphael comes first, and they discuss tomorrow's plans and how things are likely to be handled. Susan approaches, and Roland is scary and gunslingery in a way that Susan is utterly unfamiliar with. Next is River, and Roland is very, very happy to see her; he teaches her about cleaning guns and sees her back to Serenity. Last is PeeJee, and they discuss bars, guns, River, and languages.]
