Life, it seems, had taken on some sort of routine, whether or not that routine was actually preferable. Stay at the... place they were staying at (certainly not home), go out for a few things but mostly patrol, go back. The bar had stopped inserting itself, and while he was grateful to not have to discuss things, he wasn't grateful for the absence.
But his routine had changed in the last few days, mostly because his father had decided he deserved some sort of break. He'd protested, and tried his best not to, but in the end got ushured off because his father was even more stubborn than he was. So it's been a lot less stressful, and now it seems that the bar is inserting itself once more.
Because instead of ending up where he wants to go, he ends up there instead.
He really has no idea if he's grateful or reluctant about it. He supposes he'll just have to decide after sitting here for awhile in a booth, and seeing who comes around.

So there Kyle was, entering the bar a few minutes after Connor had. He was luckily out of uniform, having been checking out his new room at Oa before he had been dragged into the bar.
And of course, he doesn't fail to spot his friend. Waving, he walked over to the booth that Connor had situated himself at.
"How's it going, buddy?"
no subject
"Decidedly better," He says. "How're things for you?"
no subject
"And does decidedly better mean not really that great?" Kyle may be dense at times, but not when it came to things like this.
no subject
"I haven't seen the bar in awhile," Connor says, only giving a vague sort of answer to the latter statement. "So it's nice to see it again."
no subject
"How's life treating you?" Kyle could tell something was wrong. And was he going to let that go? Of course not.

Life was... well. "I've been on vacation."
no subject
"Really? Did your dad let you?"
no subject
"He didn't let me -not-," Connor says, with a bit of a humourless smile.
no subject
"Ah. Well, if he even makes you take a vacation, I'd say you were pretty stressed." That much was evident. Oliver could be quite dense at times.

"You look a little stressed..."
He says simply. Not that he's one to talk of course.
no subject
"Well, tea fixes everything," he says, and means it, too.
no subject
"It's something I've learned in my time here."
He holds out his hand.
"I'm Anakin...Anakin Solo."
no subject
Connor reachs out to take the hand and shake it. "Connor Hawke. It's nice to meet you, Anakin." He smiles.
no subject
"So might I ask, where and perhaps when are you from?"
He doesn't move to sit unless invited after all, he is kinda interrupting.

He sits down across from Connor and sighs a bit.

Eventually, the no-faced man had gotten to his knees atop his seat, turning around to tap Connor on the head.
"Salt?" he inquired for, hand out.
"How's Ollie?" the featureless man also hissed softly in his off-kilter voice.
no subject
And then startles again when he's processed the question.
"...you know my father?"
no subject
"We've worked together previously. Haven't seen him for awhile. Made contact. Figure I'd check with you."
For whatever reason, he shook the salt into his glass of water.
no subject
"And what did you say your name was?"
no subject
He offered the salt back.
"And you. His son. Connor Hawke. So very unlike his father. Yes... quite interesting."
no subject
"You seem to be very knowledgable," he observes.
no subject
"I keep tabs on people. Something of a hobby." More like an obsession.
