There was a plane in the bar, except he wasn't a plane at the moment. He was a human and he was re-reading the binder. Even with it committed to memory, he wanted a chance to see into the mind of the person who had written it. Perhaps if he could catch a hint of inflection beyond pure technical jargon, he could understand their real opinions toward him. He knew that they would be... limited, if anything, but he couldn't quell his curiousity.

Even knowing it would hurt him in the end.
