Happy Hour

In times gone by there used to be a double act who graced the bar with their unique repartee once a week, and doled out discounted drinks to boot. Due to the stresses of life, they haven't been seen behind the bar much lately. But tonight, they're back, if only because they could use the money to pay off Mike's recent grocery expenditures.

It's the Indy and Mike bartending show, and they're featuring all the Thanksgiving leftovers!

DRINKS SPECIALS

The Turkey
Ordinary glass: 1/2 oz Wild Turkey, 3/4 oz each of Chambord, amaretto and cranberry juice

Butternut Squash
Ordinary glass: 1 part Chivas Regal scotch, 1 part butterscotch schnapps, 1 part amaretto

Pumpkin Pie
Martini glass: 2 parts pumpkin purée, 1 part syrup, 2 parts spiced rum, splash of cream

Reheated Leftovers
Shot glass: Equal parts Wild Turkey and Jägermeister, spoonful of ignited Bacardi 151

Thanks to Mike's further exploits in the kitchen, there's also a plentiful supply of Hot Buttered Cranberry Punch for those not inclined towards alcohol this evening. Once everything is set up, the two roomies move quietly to their respective ends of the bar and prepare to take some orders.

"What'll it be, folks? Two tenders, no waiting."

Garion wanders over from the table where he'd been having dinner with Ce'Nedra after their shift.

"Indy."

A smile.

Indy gives him a grin. "Howdy. Anything I can get you besides a helping of friendly conversation?"

Samantha pops up. Suddenly and like a ninja!

She looks over the specials list and 'hmms'. "Can I get...a Butternut Squash?"

"Well how 'bout this."

Veronica slides into a seat.

"Howdy, fellas."

"I don't know, can you?"

Say the ingredient juggling Mike.

"Ah, Mars. There you are."

Indy leans casually against the counter. "How's it going, sweet cheeks?"

"May I?" Samantha sighs. She sits on a stool, smiling anyway.

Hmm. She's yet to meet the infamous Mike. Mun has just realised this.

Tim plops himself into a seat.

"Howdy boys. Set up me up with a full course."

"Wow, somebody's hungry," Indy notes as he sets about making the Turkey. "How're things, Mister Hunter?"

He shakes his head.

"Ate and drank already."

HE sits and settles at the bar with his chin in his hands.

"What've you been up to, Indy? I haven't seen you since we didn't fight."

"Not terribly, dollface. Built a snowfort. It's impressive. There will be a reckoning. How you doin'?"

"Lilly is doing as well as may be expected. She is not, yet, ready for company but she begins to heal."

He's just...there. At some point when both men are around to hear him.

Mike replies very primly.

"You may. And if you play your cards right, you might even get a little paper umbrella, to boot. Only like, don't actually boot it, for it is only paper and as such, fragile."

Mike gawks back. After a few seconds of unseemly staring, one of Mike's hands comes up from his side, snapping his jaw closed.

Indy wrinkles his nose and sighs a little. "Fine, I guess."

He takes it upon himself to show her the wonders of Reheated Leftovers, and starts to pour the double shot.

"Lil's still gone. I'm still single. Couldn't be better," he says dryly.

"Oooh pretty!" Samantha sits up straight, grinning brightly. "I'm Samantha. Largeman. Samantha Largeman."

No, she didn't just say that last name twice because it makes her squee. Never.

"Things are..."

Tim runs them through in his mind.

"Kind of all over the place."

A little more calmly, but still respectful, Indy moves over and nods. "Lord Morpheus." He wrestles Mike's rigid arm away from his mouth. "We appreciate the tidings. We miss her."

"Mel too."

Ahhh. Largeman. Now there's a name he hasn't heard in a while.

"Well it's nice to meet you SamanthaLargemanSamantha Largeman. I'm...well, to be honest I'm surprised I've actually found someone with a name shorter than mine. Michaelangelo."

He slides the drink across the bar towards her.

"Okay."

He settles against the counter.

"Um. I've been around. Just... dealing with some crappy stuff, you know?"

He hands over the entree drink. "Yeah. I know the feeling."

"Mel said you and Ace have been... at loggerheads?"

He nods.

"Anything I can help with?"

He'll ask that anytime he hears of a friend in trouble. It might be mildly annoying, but he does mean it every single time.

"Michaelangelo? Like the turtle? Ohmygod, your Raph's brother, right? Mel's boyfriend?" Samantha bounces and ignores her drink. "I am so glad I'm finally meeting you!"

"Not a thing, unless you can magically make feelings of loss and lack of self-esteem diminish," Indy replies blankly. "I dunno if you heard, but Delia and I parted ways."

How could he have heard? Indy has only told Mel and Alanna, and in confidence, but he's ready to talk now.

"I know. I promise that she is not in trouble or more pain than is unavoidable. I am not allowing my younger sisters to bedevil her. I belive that eventually she plans to return to the bar."

He nearly smiles at Mike's gawking, and nods to Indy

"If you wish, I will send messages to her."
