Because the mun is crazy and has decided not to sleep, there is a vampire in the bar tonight.

He will likely be milling about, people watching, keeping an eye out for specific individuals, but he would not mind company or an interruption.

He's been almost reasonable lately, even. This is as good a time as any.

Fred's still in a good mood, because her mun hasn't had time to thread any woe. That's why she comes bounding down the stairs wearing a bright smile of the distinctly non-woeful sort.

She very nearly runs directly into the vampire, given that she's not paying much attention to anything in particular.

"Oh! Sorry, I guess I was elsewhere just then." she says, looking sheepish. "How've you been?"

"Rather well, Fred, though I would say it pales in comparison."

A grin with no real implications. "You have been having a good time, I take it?" He's not accusatory, because he has been as well.

Fred blushes anyway, even though she hasn't, strictly speaking, been having the sort of fun he's likely implying.

"I um, well, you know. Boyfriend back from the dead, or at least here from the dead. It tends to improve one's mood slightly." she explains.

Especially since one had been recently traumatized just before said boyfriend's return.

"Well, you are looking better." He replies "And for that alone, I am grateful to him." That alone, indeed.

"Thanks." she replies, with a smile. "Sorry about that last time you saw me -- I was a little... frazzled, I guess. No permanent harm done, I don't think."

Her smile fades just slightly as she says this.

"And um, just in case the two of you run into each other? Wesley doesn't know anything about that incident, and I'm not telling him."

Not yet, anyway.

He frowns, but nods hesitantly.

"If you are certain then. Just make sure you hold on to him. He sounds like a good guy." Oh sure, he's got his own reasons for wanting them to remain happy, but he can at least pretend that he's being nice.

"Wouldn't dream of doing otherwise." she replies, that faint blush returning.

"I'll have to introduce you sometime."

The frown slowly becomes more grin like. Almost mischievously grinny.

"Yes, I think you will"

Fred eyes him. She knows mischieviousness when she sees it.

"Don't be evil. He won't share your sense of humor, he's very British."

Not as much as he used to be, admittedly, but Wesley had never taken well to Spike's kind of snark, so she doesn't think he'll react well to Montparnasse's, either.

"We'll see, Fred." He smiles as innocently as possible, though she's known him long enough to know better. "I will not be unnecessarily evil."

"That'll do, I suppose." she says, still teasing gently.

"So? Do I get to know why you're in a pleasant mood? Or would you have to kill me if I knew?"

"I would tell you if I knew for certain. But if I told you my guesses, you might offer to kill yourself." He's teasing as well. How bizarre.

"Don't really think I'd succeed, even if that were true." she says, with a rueful look that only slightly dulls her otherwise bright manner.

"So why not try me and find out?"

"I like to allow Illyria to make some decisions about her personal life and who it is shared with. And especially regarding who it is discussed with." He remarks pointedly.

He doesn't kiss and tell, apparently.

"Whoa, okay, I don't actually need to know whatever it is that you're probably implying there." Fred says, hurriedly, with an expression that conveys the approximate level of weirded-outness that is appropriate.

"...even though she gets to HAVE a personal life mostly thanks to me, not to mention that she gets to know every last detail of mine."

She says this last bit mostly to herself, really.

He chuckles. "Well I am grateful for it, whoever is to thank."

And shrugs, because he warned her.

"I think you make this stuff up just to mess with me." she replies, eyeing him with an expression that is somewhere between amused and annoyed.

She doesn't actually find it funny, but it's one of those things you have to either laugh at, or go hide in the woods again.

"If it will make you feel better to believe that." He shrugs.

He does not really want to chase he off. He did try to spare her.

"Have you eaten today?"

"...possibly?" Fred replies. "It's hard to tell the days apart when all you've got out the window is the Universe making pretty colors."

Not that Fred did that well at telling days apart most of the time, anyway. She tended to lose herself in her thoughts a bit more deeply than was strictly sane.

He rolls his eyes. She's probably seen nothing but Wes' room since he arrived. No wonder she doesn't know the day.

"Alright. Are you hungry then? Or could I get you a drink at least?"

Fred hesistates for a moment, and then nods.

"Sure, okay. I did say I'd be back shortly, but I guess there's always time for cocoa."

Her mun thinks the girl lives solely on sugar, which is probably not inaccurate given what we've seen in canon.
